Tried to book in here, and it was made very clear that our business was not wanted. Right on the street with some parking behind, but the building looks like a conrete box, not at all attractive. Quite close to the river and some of the commercies.

Your comment surprised us and as we did not understand about what it was, so we did some research.
In fact, we quickly understood that during your stay at Hôtel de France, they addressed you in our Hôtel for a request in May 2017 for a group of cyclists.
To be sure, we asked Hotel de France with which we work regularly and this has indeed been confirmed. All the more so with the same name and at the same date you left about them a very nice comment .

We understand even less this comment, that as your arrival at the Hotel where I was actually present with a receptionist, I informed you that the less capacity of the establishment would not allow us to take your request because we already have theater groups that are present every year in may.
However we have given you a welcome guide and indicated hotels which have higher capacity and could be accommodating you.
So I can say that you have been received with a very professional and courteous welcome.

You will understand our astonishment when reading your comments especially when you speak of "unaccomodating owner".
Moreover, you describe a neighborhood unwelcoming and not at all attractive. Unfortunately for us as for 80 % of the city, these are part of post-war reconstruction with for most actually concrete box buildings.
So I am surprised that if this neighborhood did not suit you, you nevertheless came to solicit us.

To finish and for intormation, in our hôtel, it is not usual to badly receive customers as witnessed by the many opinions left by customers. The reception is one of our strongest points for all the staff of Hôtel Bristol.

Very convenient location (walk to train/bus station; near many good restaurants). Hotel was clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast at reasonable cost. We didn't mind the small size of the hotel itself, the room, or the bathroom. We were on the go, so didn't need a lot of extra space. Best of all, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a small first aid issue and a cell phone issue, and the staff helped us with both. We were treated with humanity, professionalism, and genuine kindness. We recommend this hotel highly.

Came across this lovely hotel whilst travelling across France with a group of charity cyclists. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant. They locked the bikes away safely, gave us coffee and Calvados late at night and opened the bar! The rooms were exceptionally clean and our room had a large bathroom with very good facilities.

An unexpected find, with delightful staff.

We stayed for only one night and so this hotel met our needs very well. Our room was small and inexpensive. The bathroom was extremely small and so I have to mention that. You could barely turn around in it. Wifi is excellent- very fast and stable and secure. No air conditioning; it was unusually hot the nite we stayed.

If you are staying for more than one night, check the size of the room and bath.

It was only a one night stay before an early morning ferry. I was disappointed with the quality of the room and if the stay was longer I'd have moved on. The ensuite was tiny and necessitated a sliding door and it was glazed! I know us English are prudish about these things, but come on! Not sure if all rooms are similar but check if you're prudish like me!
