Just back from a peaceful week in rural France with our Daughter and Grand daughter. La Vallerie is easily within reach of Operation Overlord, Bayeaux Tapestry and beautiful towns and villages. It is very clean and tidy with absolutely everything you need. It has two outside sitting areas and is completely private - apart from the view of the cows! It really is a home from home.
Important for us was accessibility as my husband has an electric wheelchair and Stephen B kindly arranged for a mobile hoist to be delivered for our use. The space is fantastic. The place is lovely and a big thank you to Stephen for helping to make our holiday such a lovely memory.
Beautiful and quiet location but a car is definitely needed. The cottage is clean and tidy. Perfect for a holiday to recharge your batteries and relax. Local shops within 5 mins drive. Bayeux has everything you need and is delightful. An added bonus was the night sky. On a clear night. No light pollutio. A real natural wonder.
Just got back from a week at La Valerie and we are wishing we had booked two weeks. There are plenty of places to visit including a chateau, war museums, Bayeux and the coast so we filled to week with visits and wished we had another week just to sit in the sun and look at the lovely view of fields and trees with only the occasional car to disturb the peace.
The gite is very well equipped and has plenty of space for couples holidaying together or families. A dishwasher and washing machine, good wifi and English tv all make life more comfortable. There are two large bathrooms, the downstairs bedroom and bathroom is ideal for anyone with mobility problems which proved unexpectedly ideal as a knee operation came through for the week before the holiday for one of our party. The nightly visit of a tawny owl sitting on a post on the other side of the lane was a bonus
Gite was in good condition, perfect for wheelchair user (ramp provided for door access). Ground floor en-suite ideal. Only downside was only one television, although the pictures show one in the upstairs bedroom and the fact that you pay for bedding and towels and get one only. If you want to change bedding halfway through stay, you have to either wash them yourself ( No tumble dryer) or pay another fee.
