The hotel is a beautiful old mansion with lovely furnishings and a welcoming staff. My husband hurt his knee before we arrived and the staff moved things around so that we could have a cheerful ground floor room -- no stairs to climb. They made dinner reservations in advance for us as well. Breakfast is in a charming dining room -- great granola, yogurt and the best coffee we've had in France. Another plus, we were just across the street from the Saturday morning market. The hotel has a lovely garden, too. I can't recommend Hotel d'Argouges enough!

Room Tip: There is an accessible room on the ground floor

Great location for seeing Normandy. This is a nice cozy place with clean rooms in a beautiful building. The back garden is perfect for wine and cheese. I highly recommend their breakfast buffet with great choice at a fair price. Best of all is the wonderful service from the staff!!!

Room Tip: Check out the steps for certain rooms. Staff did hep with getting suit cases to room.

Our first time visiting Normandy, and Frederic, his staff and this hotel made it very memorable. The rooms were clean, comfortable and roomy enough! The overall atmosphere of the hotel is beautiful, romantic and "homey"! The location was great for all our trips thru town. We were treated with the utmost respect and friendliness. Recommend Frederic, staff and this hotel if you are planning a trip here. Bonus, there was no language barrier and check in/out was stress free.

We stayed at the beautiful Hotel D'Argouges in a double superior room. It is only classed as a 3 star, but we thought that it was more like a 4 1/2 star. The location is perfect, walking distance to everything, yet it is quiet and peaceful. The staff are kind, friendly, and helpful. Our room was beautiful, spacious and clean. There is private car parking on site. And the gardens were an absolute delight to return to after a day tripping about, to relax and enjoy some wine and cheese. Wouldn't hesitate to return here and would highly recommend staying here to anyone. Thanks to the staff for an absolute perfect stay.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms would be good. We had a perfect double superior room.

The Hotel d'Argouges is a boutique hotel in the center of Bayeux. It is a lovely old building with a courtyard in front and a sitting garden in back. Parking is complimentary with you room. The location is great for walking to town center for the museum or church or shopping. We did find limited food options that were great or worth commenting but we were there only two nights. The hotel serves breakfast and at best it was okay; I would recommend that you may want to explore potential alternative breakfast locations if you are there more than a day or so. I would recommend anyone to stay in this hotel --- note that there are stairs involved and you must carry your luggage up so plan accordingly. The outdoor garden is an absolute bonus; a lovely place to sit in the evening with a glass of wine or hot tea!
