Suite was stunning - two large rooms plus a bathroom that deserves 5 stars all on its own. The decorations are understated and elegant throughout. Nathalie obviously has a passion for beauty and elegance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our two year old son. Nathalie was very accommodating for a gluten intolerance and vegetarians in our family (unusual in France). A travel cot (pack and play) was provided and a high chair for breakfast. We ate lunch nearby at La Tramontana, also highly recommended. And, the centre of Lille is well worth a trip in on the metro to visit. Metro stop is nearby and the ride is just 10 minutes.

Room Tip: Book Les Tourterelles - amazing whirpool tub and separate sitting room if you are traveling with a child

We stayed in Lille to visit WW1 battlegrounds which were within easy reach, Nathalie and Bernard were the perfect hosts, our room whilst small was cosy and furnished to a high standard, the bed was very comfortable too! The house has been lovingly restored and breakfast was served each morning in the charming dining room overlooking the garden and aviary. Would definitely recommend and is only a 30 min walk into the beautiful city of Lille.

We visited lille for three hectic days to pay our respects at the battlefields of flanders.
We choose to stay at maison lille de oiseaux after reading good reviews on tripadvisor and we're not disappointed.

We were given a really warm welcome by Nathalie on arrival and that warmth continued throughout!
The room was well appointed with a really comfortable bed and furniture that had obviously been chosen with care and sympathy for the century old building.
The breakfast room was equally as imposing. Vintage fires and Tiffany lights adorn. The continental breakfast served will satisfy the most fussy eaters needs.
Breads, pastries, cheeses, freshly cooked eggs, ham and homemade yogurts.

Lille is ideally located for visiting the battlefields of northern France and Belgium. But it is also a beautiful city in itself and Nathalie is always willing to offer advice on places to visit locally or further afield.

Lille aux Oiseaux is a beautiful old property run by Nathalie and Bernard, who are lovely and caring hosts. The property is not close to the town centre, but it is very close to the very efficient Metro, and an all day pass costs only 4 euro.
On our stay, Bernard even insisted on driving us to the main railway station for us to pick up our hire car, because he couldn't get a taxi when we needed it.
Only warning is that the rooms are upstairs and there is no lift, so may not be suitable for all.

The house was very lovely, clean, cozy and charming. Nathalie is simply a sweetheart. Her and her family made me feel most welcomed. It´s well located in a nice neighbourhood and very close to the subway. I definitely recommend this jewel and will be returning.
