We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a coach tour. Our hosts were superb, very helpful, warm and accommodating. The hotel is old and full of character, our room was clean and comfortable and exactly what we expected. The location was superb, right in the heart of the town and the view from our bedroom was breathtaking. Don't expect 5 star luxury, be prepared for a quirky, characterful and slightly bohemian experience and you won't be disappointed. Sally is a gem and the food was tasty if nothing special. We liked it here!

we stayed here one night in August, we had planned to stay two nights but there was a family in the room next to us who stayed up past 1am talking and making noise with their kids. The walls were very thin and we could hear everything. We asked reception if there was another room and we were told there was not another room and they said they would not charge us for 2nd night if we decided to leave. We found another room in a different part of village and had a quieter stay in a place that was a bit cleaner and more modern. Lion D'or was great location and parking is included which is important in Rocamadour. Wifi is not available in the room, only in the tiny lobby area. Overall a decent place in a great location with parking.

Booked this as a one night stay while visiting the area with my family. The location could not be better as it is down in the town itself. Parking was easy and close to the hotel. Rooms are basic but ideal for short stays. In truth visiting the sites is the reason you come here. All facilities are there, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant for dinner which was really fresh and tasty. Everbody enjoyed all aspects of our stay in this great hotel.

We booked this hotel as we wanted to stay close to all the sights. In that respect, it didn't disappoint. It is within the medieval city ramparts of Rocamadour, on the beautiful pedestrian street leading to the Notre Dame sanctuary. That said, this is a very BASIC hotel, well past its prime. The rooms have everything to just spend the night and nothing more. No aircon, no minibar, not even a safe. Ditto for the bathroom. Basically you'll not want to spend any time in the hotel itself. The people running are quite nice though.

we stayed here for two nights as part of a coach tour. I had been concerned about what the hotel would be like based on reviews and was pleasantly surprised. The location is wonderful, right in the town. Yes it is old and a bit tired, the decor is dated but it was also clean and comfy. Yes the bathroom was a little compact but it was clean and it all worked. You have to remember that this is a 2 star hotel - i have stayed in worse hotels with more stars! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The choice at breakfast was not huge - it could have done with some more fresh fruit - but the bread was fresh, the croissants were delicious and the coffee hot. We also had a set evening meal, which while not fancy, was hot and plentiful. The real gem for me was the view from the dining room, which overlooked the valley - you could see birds of prey flying around - spectacular. I also had not trouble with the internet, although other guests did. For the money and the location a good hotel.
