Recommendation from TripAdvisor was worth the visit as usually ;) Really, really good food; both the strter and the main were really yasty, the beef for main was perfectly cooked and came woth a nice tepanade and potatoes on the side. Dessert was ok but nothing special.

Service was poor. The waiter was on his own, which I think should never be the case no matter how small the restaurant is. We were waiting for him to take our orders for a really long time and when I asked if we could finally place them he was explaining himsef for a few good minutes and became cheeky and trying-to-be-funny, which was really annoying and most importnantly very unprofessional and actually not very polite...moreover, my mum is allergic to garlic, he ensured it wasn't added to the courses as requested by us but served an amuse-bouche with garlic regardless...

Overall a nice place with really good food so I would come back :)

We visited Albi for one night and pre-booked Ambroisie for dinner and are really pleased that we did. It is a smallish restaurant which seems to be popular with locals and tourist alike. The service was exceptional, friendly, attentive and we were given plenty of time to have our meal in a relaxed manner. The waiter speaks excellent English and responded nicely to our (rather stilted) attempt to converse in French. The menu du jour cost €26 (in the evening) for three courses preceded by an amuse bouche.
There is only one sitting so there is no rush to leave and many people had to be turned away as they had not booked in advance.
All in all a very pleasant dining experience!

Loved EVERYTHING about this restaurant/meal last night! Booked just 1 day before but glad we did as it was fully booked and people were turned away. Restaurant is small but full of character, colourful and cosy. Melon amuse bouche was sublime - such intense flavour from foam! Our choice of starter were the guacamole with the most perfectly cooked prawns and THE best salsa ever! The first place in France I have had mouth tingle from the spice - fantastic! The octopus starter was amazingly tender and full of flavour. Main was a veal which was cooked perfectly and SO tender, served with a beautuful morel sauce and fantastic sweet potato fries - superb! Dessert for me was the lemon tiramisu, which was devine and the marinated strawberries with chocolate brownie & ice cream, which was spot-on! All in all, absolutely fantastic and it will be my 1st choice for Albi in future!!!

We have had a few disappointments but usually always try to select the top 1-3 restaurants per Tripadvisor after doing a lot of research. In this case, the time spent researching restaurants in Albi was time well spent, and we would classify this meal as one of the highlights of our trip.

The restaurant is operated by husband / wife team of Guillaume and Jasmin, and they do a fabulous job. Guillaume works the front of the house, deftly serving each table with a smile, speaking French and English to his clientele. When we were there, it was a Sunday and it was apparent many of the people in the restaurant were locals -- always a good sign!

That day there was one meal served -- a beautiful tomato tarte / shrimp / salad starter followed by roast chicken and potatoes with two delicious sauces, green beans and carrots. Dessert was some caramel ice cream with cooked apples over some sort of French toast, soft and delicious.

My food descriptions don't do the food justice so I will attach a few photos to this review. The complete meal was 15 euros per person plus wine.

By all means, if you are going to be in Albi, call a few days ahead and book this popular restaurant. You will be glad you did.

Celebrated my birthday here with the family. It was a Sunday evening and many restaurants are closed in Albi. This one was open and I will never forget the great food, the fantastic service and the charming little room. There are only few tables and they are normally full, so remember to make a reservation.
