This was a team dinner after 3 days of hard work together and we really enjoyed the fresh and tasty food. We also made it to order good wine but the process was not easy.

We (my wife and me) had a 200 euro dinner.
Ofcourse with a great bottle of wine.
Buy starter was OK not great. But ok.
Main course looked like a war battle, and on our request we got another main course which was good (very good).
Dessert for one person was as expected ...
We are not sure that we will get back again. There are too menny other good alternatives for same price

This restaurant is superb. Even after consulting my notes my review will not do it justice. We pitched up without a reservation for lunch and were so satisfied we got the same table for dinner that evening. There are three menus: 23, 41 and 70E. For lunch we chose the 23E menu. We both chose the same: filet of daurade. It was beautifully presented on a bed of steamed diced vegetables. At dinner I had the turbot with a gratin of courgettes; my wife had an excellent Angus filet with confit ratte potatoes and cantarelles so fresh they could have come from her family's farm. Their wine list is, without exaggerating, one of the most complete lists we have ever encountered. They feature quality well known wines but also quality wines from small producers. At both meals we had a delicious white from the Luberon, Belle Pierre. The maitre d'hotel was very helpful in advising us. Later this fall we intend to visit the producer and lay in a stock. The chef, Patrick Antoine, is self taught. His parents owned the restaurant and when his father died he bought out his mother and began developing a high quality cuisine. The menus are limited. Most ingredients are local and superb quality. David, the maitre d'hotel, makes sure service is exemplary. His staff is courteous and superbly trained. On our drive home we discussed our experience at Le Cap Marine and tried to pick holes. We couldn't. Two meals, back-to-back, were outstanding. Value for money, there is nothing like Le Cap where we live and we have some very fine restaurants. On our next trip north we will book a table and go back to Le Cap Marine. It offers a lovely eating experience. Whitebeard83

Le Cap Marine is said by many to be one of the top restaurants in Nancy. While the food can be excellent you do tend to get what you pay for. I had the €70 menu and each of the three courses was very good, with the dessert (a chocolate fondant with raspberries) being particularly notable. My wife had the €41 menu, which had a strong main course and excellent dessert but started with a mediocre first course (a pedestrian risotto). The wine list is exhaustive but be warned, the sommelier has a serious attitude. Indeed, he was borderline very rude to the point where I almost complained. However, our main waiter was so nice and accommodating that it saved what could have been a rather unpleasant experience. Overall we enjoyed ourselves because of his hospitality.
