We went there with friends on New Years Eve, and we had a great evening. As the restaurant is rather small we almost felt as eating in a private home. The meal was delicious, and the waiters were very good. At midnight the new year was celebrated with champagne :-).

Although Montpellier not known for bouillabaisse, I thought it should be good because of proximity to Mediterranean. Raw fish appetizer was pretty good and generous. The bouillabaisse tasted good but was cold and was heavy on potatoes. The restaurant is in a very nice walled off garden but you could hear street noise.

We visited here on a recent trip to Montpelier. The house is very nicely restored and the setting is very pretty.
There are quite a few good menu options. We didn’t do the tasting menu as we were not hungry enough and we took one menu and one a la carte. For starters we have the baked oysters and ceviche which was excellent. My main course, a lamb tajine, was delicious and tender. We had a cheese plate to finish which was not so interesting. Overall though the food was great, the service was excellent, staff were very friendly and I think it was good value for money.

In a quiet street only minutes walk from Comedie or Antigone it is well worth seeking out. This is an old restored building set in a walled garden, tables set outside in suitable weather. Staff were welcoming, professional and efficient. We opted for the Menu Gourmand (3 courses €42). Amuse-bouche unusual and full of flavours. Outstanding starter was the scallops (3) cooked in a smoky ham wrap and served on a disc of goats cheese. The fillet of beef was perfect and so enhanced by the accompanying cassolette of morels and a traditional dish of sliced potatoes cooked in a pastry case. Superb!! Tip : when checking reviews make sure you use "any" for sorting by language, you will get a much better range of opinions.

My wife and I ate here on Boxing Day. You have to look for the door in the side street which is kept closed, but push it open and up some stairs you find yourself in a hallway and are greeted there before being shown into the dining room. It is almost like eating in someone's front room and in the summer there is a courtyard / garden as well. The waitress could not speak much English but the waiter could, the owner a charming older lady came and greeted us while we were looking at the menu. My wife had the lower priced set menu, I had the higher priced one, there was also a special Christmas menu. All the food was good, sometimes presented unusually, but the dishes were full of cream and several diners requested salt and pepper. We both enjoyed the atmosphere as well as the food, the whole ambiance was old fashioned. If you like white tablecloths and napkins and good service then I can recommend this restaurant.
