“Very fine dining!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2011

The setting is elegant, the service is top drawer, the food and presentation excellent and the prices to match.
We enjoyed the following three entrees: scampi, duck liver and tomato tart. My completely de-shelled lobster main course was magnificent. It all went well with a Fouilly Fume 2006.

The only disappointment was that despite the menu stating that service was included and leaving a moderate tip nonetheless, the staff were clearly displeased with the amount.

“Equal Right in Service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2011

Went twice in June ,with family and important customers.
The last dinner (5 guests) was on the terrace.
This is not a place for "guest equal right".
The "attention" level is linked to your celibrity level (obviously from the french conservative system).
My guests were chocked when they observed the sommelier (or pseudo sommelier)pouring wine at 300E +/bottle without testing into the glasses.
Our average dinner bill/person was 500E,which I think deserve the same service behavior than the "Tout Paris".
Some waiters are too senior and are not at all motivated for the job.

“Embarrassingly Overpriced”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2011

Had dinner with business guests here. The patio is a nice space. When i saw the menu I was shocked with the prices. Mains at 90 euros and starters at 60 euro. Wines from150 euro upward. The food is good but at those prices you do not enjoy it anymore and with just one star. The service is not particularly friendly and the maitres tie was stained. The cheese plateau was not particularly special. The asperges dish was very plain with overcooked egg. The place was full of business people. Just a conveyor belt of fine dining at ridiculous pricing. Very disappointing.

“a really special night”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 September 2010

We visited Laurent for our wedding anniversary dinner with two friends. We had booked a private room and we wanted it to be a special night - and it really was. right from the start, the staff were very helpful, responding to emails promptly, making suggestions. nothing was too much trouble = our friends being there was a surprise to my husband, and the staff were lovely about letting our friends arrive early and not saying anything to him when he and I arrived. the private room was beautiful, we had our own private balcony as well and the service from both front of house and the waiting staff impeccable. The meal was delicious - absolutely gorgeous, with the cheese and pudding out of this world. Others have mentioned that Laurent is expensive and it it - but in our case, we had a fixed price menu for E140 per head, which for michelin standard is very good and drinks were included. All in all, the staff of Laurent pulled out all the stops to make it a really special night - we will certainly go again!

“Why on earth this has only one Michelin star is beyond me!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 January 2010

We recently spent three nights in Paris eating dinner each night at, in order, a one star, a three star and a one star. The last one being Laurent. A beautiful building and really classy atmosphere awaited us. the service was attentive but not overbearing. the food was exceptionally good with extremely "precise" cooking, everything on the plate retained it's own taste but also positvely combined with the other ingredients to make sensational dishes.
We took the taster "Menu De Saison" at 282 euros for two people.
we started with a plate of root vegitables with aromatics and spicy oils, pretty brave we thought to serve only root veg as a starter, but it was delicious and beyond what we had imagined, on to a "Fregola-Sarda" (the little pieces of meat off of the back of the chicken) with white truffles and white wine foam on sot-l'y-laisse which was just one of the best things we have ever tasted! Next perfectly cooked browned scallops with a herb butter and then on to an absolute masterpiece, Loin & Saddle of Baby Lamb from the Pyranees, it's Kidney and Violet Artichokes. This dish would grace any table in any restaurant no matter how many stars anywhere in the world! It was worth the trip for this alone .......... absolute knockout!! We fineshed with a good selection of cheese (i have seen better but it was more than enough) and an expertly cooked Tangerine Souffle.
The wine list is listed by year/region and is extensive and given that we were in the middle of Paris there were some reasonably priced options.
We really urge you to go to this restaurant now, as when that second star arrives, as it surely will, the prices will go north as you would expect.
