This parc used to be a stone-pit. At the inauguration, the artificial lake disappeared in the former stone-pit in front of Napoleon III and his guests. The person responsible committed suicide. Now, the artificial lake is home to ducks. The parc is quite big, very nice for running. You have toilets and fountains with drinking water inside the parc. You also have free swedish gymnastic lessons till the end of August on Monday at 7.30pm, Wednesday on 7.30pm and Saturday at 11pm, you have to take the entrance that is at the crossing between Avenue Reille and Rue Nansouty. In case of rain or heat wave, the lessons are canceled. Just in front of the parc, you have the Cité Universitaire, lots of homes to students from all around the world. You have different architectural styles, the house of Japan in Japanese style, the house of Cuba, the house of South Asia, the house of Monaco all with the styles of the country and much much more. Free wifi as well.

A bit far from the center of Paris but worth the jaunt. Lovely park with lots of trees, water, flowers.

The perfect place to discover a real Paris and the real Parisians walking around, having rests, kids playing and jogger running. A nice alternative to Luxembourg. You can take the opportunity and visit the international university campus in front of Montsouris.

One of my closest friend lives nearby so from time to time we drop by with some wine. It is a very beautiful park, with a big lake which is home to plenty of wildlife. It is quite a popular spot amongst Parisians. The Southern part is a bit "hilly" and a bit noisy as well mostly due to the very close proximity with the "Cité Universitaire" RER station, whereas the Northern part is flat and busier.

Thank Alexandre C
