it's called 'Kaffeehaus', but it's not.
in a Kaffeehaus you normally find comfortable benches or chairs, enjoy your coffee, read a newspaper, eat some pastries..... here you only have few wooden high chairs and a small shelf.... very, very uncomfortable... and the part with regular tables is not accessible in the morning, only for lunch..... so it's a pastry vending shop, with a restaurant, not a Kaffeehaus...
a very important point in a Kaffeehaus is of course the coffee, so they normally have nice big coffee machines..... not here, there is only a tiny household one.... and the pastries? not bad, but also not really exciting....
so overall, coming from Vienna, a very disappointing experience

Wonderful service, exquisite selection of cakes and pastries and the best place to sit and have your morning cappuccino before exploring Paris.

Very nice little pastry shop/tea parlour/restaurant.
Cheap and tasty food served for lunch and of course amazing cakes (with a beautiful black forest gateau).
Really small place though, so book a table in advance!

This is one of my go-to places when I am in the 17th arrondissement, near the métro/subway TERNES on the métro #2 line (1 métro stop away from Charles De Gaulle Étoile).

I have to say that I have never, ever been disappointed with any of their offerings -- be it a cake, a pastry, bread, little knick-knacks -- all made "maison".

Compared to French pastry shops, this one will knock your socks off -- there are desserts and cakes, billowing with whipped cream, fruit spreads, and shards of chocolate.

It is an authentic place. From what I remember, the owner is a pastry chef from East Germany, who has tweeked traditional recipes to make them his own. German customers have exclaimed that the desserts are actually better than back home (and I believe them).

For as many times as I've been to this place, I have never had lunch there ; but, I've been told that it's good. I think that an average lunch prix-fixe (a main dish and dessert) will run about 18 euros. Whether or not I'm there for lunch, I'd like to try the Salmon Coulbiac (it's like salmon in puff pastry) ; it looks SO GOOD !

This is the time when a photo could say more than my entire review (such as it is) ; but, all I can say is that while they may have some desserts that are on the "daintier" side and French-like, if you've got a hankering for a REAL DESSERT and NO FEAR of butter and cream, you will thank me for pointing out this place !

Nice cafe with good drinks and gorgeous cakes. Located in a bustling Street market. Try the cakes, you will not regret. The Black Forest is awesome.

Highly recommended.
