I find it interesting that there are so few reviews on this hotel. This hotel was one of the worst I have ever stayed in. It was horrible, very run down, dirty, noisy and didn't feel very safe.
When we checked in, we went up to our room and discovered that the ceiling was leaking in the bathroom. When I called down to reception, the man didn't believe me. He said he had to see it himself (I understood! ). He came in and then was questioning (almost accusatory) how we discovered the leak. Well, it was leaking right over the toilet and was basically raining on our head when we used the bathroom. Not to mention the floor was covered in water. I asked him to change rooms and he refused. He said he would have someone fix the leak and clean up the mess. I asked what would happen if it didn't get fixed and he said he would have to move me to another room and would charge me more. I told him that wasn't right since it was not my issue. He said he would get it fixed and then left the room.
We walked around the room, checking things and discovered melted chocolate on the floor (at least I hope it was chocolate!). There were candy wrappers under the bed and M&M's (I think) scattered on the floor under the bed. There was also dust and dirt on the furniture.
About 30 minutes later we heard someone working in the room above us. About 30 minutes after that, housekeeping came in and cleaned the bathroom. I pointed out the dirt issues to the cleaning woman but she didn't understand English and just left the room. Fortunately, it was no longer raining in our bathroom but the whole experience left me feeling angry.
After it was fixed, I went down and asked him if we could have 2 more pillows. He told me that there were already pillows in our room. I said that we wanted 2 more pillows because we like more pillows. He said there were more pillows in the cabinet. I told him I already looked in the cabinet and there weren't any. He argued with me and said there are always more pillows in the cabinet. Then he insisted on going up to the room to see for himself. He didn't like it when he was proven wrong and just kept muttering how it was very unusual that there weren't more pillows in the cabinet.
The whole time we were there we didn't feel safe. The lock on the door was very flimsy. When we came back one day, we pushed on the door and it just opened. Housekeeping had been in our room and must not have closed the door tightly because before we left, we shut the door tightly, pushed on it and jiggled it to make sure it was closed.
The only positive thing I can say about Hotel Des 3 Nations is that it is close to metro.
