“Six flights of pain for a fabulous view!”

For a brief trip to Paris, this apartment offers a central location with very easy access to all major sights and a wonderful view over the chimney pots to Notre Dame. As long as your children are old enough to negotiate 6 flights of stairs and (hopefully) carry a small bag or two, this is a good option for families. The photos are all very representative.

If possible, DON'T eat nearby. Rue de la Harpe and it's neighbouring streets used to be known as "bacteria alley", but whilst you are unlikely to actually become unwell, the local restaurants are on average, very poor quality. Even the numerous creperies have stacks of pre-cooked crepes which they reheat, rather than cook to order. Grab a Metro to any other arrondissement and enjoy better dining options.

The owner, Aurelien, was always contactable during our stay and very helpful. For our visit over Christmas, he even organised a Christmas tree and decorations for the roof terrace. This was wonderful, given there was no way on earth we would consider lugging a tree up those stairs!

One small point worth mentioning is the complete lack of a fire exit in the building. Not the place to stay for those who worry about such things.. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this apartment and would recommend it to others wanting reasonably priced accommodation in the Latin Quarter.

This apartment is a real find ..... it's the best city base I've ever stayed in . There's lots to make you feel you made the right choice , and at a good price .
The eclectic interior has very good morning light which makes you want to get out and enjoy paris . Or you can stay in and enjoy a very thoughtfully decorated and well equipped pad , with that killer roof terrace ....... I'm sure it will be a green oasis in summer. It looks out over all the rooftops on to Notre-Dame.
It's in a bustling area , yet still quiet inside . There's a supermarket right next door .
The cleaning lady is very friendly and helpful . Everything you need in a place to stay.

“Location in paris perfect but few problems disappointing”

This was my 12th. Is it to Paris taking 2 friends for their first visit so looking for a special trip. Where the apartment is situated in St Michel area is perfect for metro, shopes and eeasonable restaurants and in safe area for 3 women. In previous reviews the steps are always mentioned - there is a reason .... 126 spiral step stairs - we were all fit but do take this into consideration! The view from top patio was amazing and a good sized apartments. But heating broke in the entire building on day one (-1) outside, small electric heater and air con unit was only heat and it was freezing, we had to sleep in jumpers! likewise there was a cinema system - our plan was to watch movies (midnight in paris etc etc) late night and experience next day - but this was broken before arrival and could not be fixed during our visit. Each time payment made 3.9% added transfer fee plus be aware of €100 cleaning fee non returnable as well as returnable security deposit (which was returned promptly.)Would certainly return to the area unlikely to this accommodation - I'm sure just unfortunate although when expressing this to the owner - by email - no response
I have left this review 2 weeks as only ever given good feedback in past but better to know in advance!
