Stayed at hotel during christmas period. Everything was fabulous. room was really spaciuos,(for the price you pay, in Paris especially),the bathroom was spacious, lcd tv,i myself work in hotel business, so know what to excpect. the hotel is rated 3 star, and believe me, there is worst 4 star hotels in Paris then this fab small hotel. The lift in the hotel, it;s a must!!! even if you are not stayinh in the hotel. breakfast was ok. location might put smbd off a bit, it's next to moulin rouge, but it's quite, and the metro station is just few steps away. The is 2 supermarkets near the hotel, if you fancy good food, and great wine. As a young family with young children who travel quite a bit, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this fab hotel. highly recommend!! will definitely visit again!!!

Number of stays in this hotel: 2

The Fromentin hotel is a 3 stars hotel and it can live up to that for Parisian standards.

I stayed in this hotel 2 times. The first time was excellent, the second time was not that good. The first time I had a spacious room with nice big windows and clean. The second time, I stayed on the top floor, I had to waith several hours before check-in. It was a horrible little attic-room. No space and a very small bathroom. The second stay made me reconsider to never stay in the hotel again.

-Rooms: just make sure you don't stay on the top floor and the room will be fine. Great view at the sacre coeur!

- Staff is polite, breakfast is good for parisian standard. (some choice, some cereal, more than the usual continential breakfast)

- The reception and lobby are outstanding! It is beautiful, just like the pictures and you can enjoy a beverage any time of the day in the pleasant lobby: a former absithbar. Very good ambiance.

- The location is not that good. You stay at boulevard Clichy/ rue fromentin. A red light district. Montmarte is, of course nearby, but if you dont like montmarte, its no fun. Touristic neighbourhood.

Have stayed at Royal Fromentin during a short business trip. Although I liked the hotel website, I was a little worried about the surroundings of the hotel - the close location to Pigalle or Moulin Rouge means many sexshops and bars open until late night are only a few steps away from the hotel. Despite all that, I did not feel insecure even around 1:00 am when returning to the hotel after a late dinner. The double bed in my room was very comfortable (see my photos in the candid traveler photos gallery), and I liked very much the renovated traditional lift and the breakfast room, which once used to be a cabaret. When arriving late at night, do not be surprised to find the entrance to the hotel locked, just use the doobell to reach the receptionist. With the seasonal rate promotions, would definitely visit again.

Stayed here for one night at the end of September. Booked a twin room which was not remotely like hotel website description. It was small with fairly poor furnishing and an old TV balanced on an old stand. No waste bin, no glass for water nor anything except 2 tiny twin beds.

Bathroom was ok and breakfast was fine but not anything special. Area above hotel fairly sleazy but not in a threatening way. Also not on main metro line so you need to change lines a few times to get to major sites.

Would I recommend it to stay? Certainly not at hotel advertised rate but not the absolute worst!

Arrived at the hotel mid morning-couldnt get into room yet so asked to leave luggage at hotel. a guy gave us a key to another room in foyer but 2 steps up then sat there and watched whilst my freind and i struggled with 2 huge suitcases. could only just fit 1 person and luggage into lift .. had trouble getting into room as lock was stiff .. room was huge 2 queen size beds, huge bathroom with shower/bath and decent basin area and also a private balcony that opened up onto rue fromentin. That night had dinner at a local cafe up the street yes its colorful but perfectly safe. Had brekki next day was told the lady who serves brekki is a bit slow and may need to yell out! forgot to mention she speaks not a word of english so had no idea what brekfast entailed. I managed to get some criossants, coffee, juice and cereal but no fruit. got take away pizza that night from down the road and returned to have the wine they said they served at bar but they deceided they dont sell it by the glass and was 40 euro per bottle!
Also got very little sleep as a family staying above us and constant banging and kids running across floors and slamming doors - mentioned this on check out the staff said'oh they're leaving today'absolutely no apology for this racket! overall a very interesting expeirience but staff definately need to lift their game!
