Terrific accessible location with shops & cafes next door; front desk staff had great restaurant recommendations & were otherwise helpful in every way you'd hope for.

My corner room had patchy internet access since it's apparently farthest from the router on each floor, but the trade-off was a full bath and big windows in two directions so I decided to stay put (& occasionally bring my laptop to the lobby to work).

Rooms are small -- not much desk space -- but perfectly adequate, good value. I would stay here again.

What a find! Hotel Valadon is a 12 room “budget” hotel with clean, although small, modern rooms on a side street in the Rue Cler area. It is a 5 minute walk from the L’Ecole Militaire metro stop and a 10 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower and the RER station for the train to Versaille. There are markets, shops, and restaurants close by and even a hardware store and a laundromat. Each floor has two rooms. The hotel has a small elevator, which was a definite plus since we were on the top floor. Our room on the back was quiet, even with the window open – and we could see the top of the Eiffel Tower from our window. The free Wi-Fi worked great in the room. They do not want food in the rooms, but there is a dining area on the ground floor with a refrigerator for the guests. The fact that the reception staff is not on site was no problem. Hotel Cadran, which owns the Hotel Valadon and is the place you check in, is just a few steps away. The staff was always helpful and most spoke excellent English. The adjoining shop has beautiful macaroons. If you want to try some, be sure to learn the shop hours. It was always closed when we were around. Instead of breakfast at the Hotel Cadran, we ate at neighborhood restaurants and enjoyed watching a little bit of Parisian life as parents walked their children to school. We would definitely stay at the Hotel Valadon again.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel du Cadran at the end of a month long tour of Spain, Morocco, Portugal and ending in Paris. We chose this hotel because it was a recommended hotel in our Rick Steve's Paris 2010 book. Rick's books never disappoint! The location, in the heart of the Rue Clare district, was most enjoyable! There were restaurants all around the hotel as well as a grocery shop, and dry cleaners right across the street. There was also a cheese store right next door. We were able to walk to some sites from this location as well as catch the Metro that was only a block away. There were two bank machines located just around the corners of the Hotel. There is also a chocolate shop located right in the lobby of the hotel. There were two computers for internet use at no charge and they had a lovely breakfast included in the price we paid. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Although it was a bit expensive it was a nice way to end our trip.

We stayed there for three nights in October and we really enjoyed our stay there. We had an attic room facing the street. The room was reasonably quiet, although with an open window there was some noise from late night revellers in the street. The view was not great just other Paris rooftops. This hotel is located near to a Metro station although we found we could walk to most places from the hotel. It is less than 10 minutes from the Eiffel Tower and close to the Rodin Museum and other major attractions. The room was clean, plenty of room, extremely comfortable and with free wi fi. Staff were extremely friendly and most obliging. They are situated 50 metres from the hotel in the Hotel Cadran. There is no breakfast at the Valadon but it is available at the Cadran. We did not have breakfast at the Cadran as there are numerous cafes within about 150 metres of the Hotel.
There is a small two person lift which is useful if you are in at attic room. I would certainly stay in this Hotel again

Really enjoyed the staff here. I am happy to endorse this hotel, however I did not like Trip advisor telling me I had to write 50 words. I do not have that much to imput or the time to do so, but felt the hotel deserved an atta boy.
