My daughter loves fashion so this museum was recommended. So glad we went. We spent a bit of time in the main part of the museum which had some interesting and varied items (textiles, paper art, furnishings) but then spent most time in the Fashion Forward special exhibit and the Barbie exhibit. It was great seeing fashions and how they have changed from the 1700's to present day. The Barbie exhibit is quite extensive and tells the story of how Barbie started and how it has changed over the years. Definitely worth visiting.

An incredible exhibit just for summer 2016 - the largest Barbie exhibit ever assembled- 100s and 100s of Barbies. You can see/read/learn all about the creator of Barbie, Mattel, the inspiration...see The first Barbie, then how Barbie changed over the decades...Barbies in many nationalities, ethnicities, careers...the Fashion Designer Barbies: Valentino, Halston, Gucci, etc...Barbie dressed up as Star Trek, Gone with the Wind, Duchess Catherine, Wizard of Oz...and 100s and 100s of her clothes and accessories...the camper van! Swimming pool Barbie! And, of course, Barbie's family and friends...Ken, Skipper, etc. An amazing exhibit- if you are a Barbie fan, you need to see this!

We went to the Musee des Arts Decoratifs to see the permanent jewelry exhibit. The pieces were poorly lit from above and none of the gems sparkled. Most memorable was a diamond Cartier brooch that was so shadowed by the overhead light that it was completely dark, no sparkle or life at all. If jewelry is your thing, avoid this exhibit.

A great exhibition with an exhaustive story of Barbie over the decades. Fashionistas will love the part dedicated to fashion, incredible dresses by great designers! Amazing!

This is a fashion history exhibition spanning several centuries...stunning display of 300 silhouettes of men's, women's and children's fashion from the 18th century to today.
Never have been to the Museum before and it was more than worth it!!
