The hotel is in a very good location, supermarket, bars and plenty of eateries to chose from. The hotel is in need of some decoration to bring it back up to scratch, my room was good enough for what we wanted and paid for. The breakfast was very good value compared to prices outside. The staff was more than helpful and really made you welcome. The hotel is in between 2 metro stations and lots of buses for getting around. Lot of the hotels in Paris are very similar to this as they are old, but if I return for another show I will be staying here. Don't be put of by the negative comments.

Room Tip: Rooms towards the back are more quiet but we did not have a problem with a street facing room.

The hotel's location is good, with two Métro stations nearby, a choice of eating places, and a short walk to Montmartre and Sacré Coeur. However, it is let down by several failings. It claims to be 3* rated, but even allowing for the higher cost of hotels in a capital city it does not provide facilities or value at 3* level.
Plus points: friendly reception staff (English speaking, though we didn't need that); wi-fi simply to access and fast enough for e-mail and Web browsing.
Less good.... The lift is very small (could hold 3 persons, but not with luggage) and very slow. The room was up under the roof with restricted daylight, view onto a courtyard with no greenery. Irritating 'security' clothes hangers. Hot water available, after a wait. The bathroom was clean enough, but the plugs slowly let water leak away especially from the washbasin. TV satellite channel listing included BBC World – but there was no reception.
Breakfast: would have been extra €8, for coffee and a not very appealing looking croissant, so we didn't bother and went to a nearby café instead.

Room Tip: Avoid the top floors (6th, 7th) – risk of limited daylight into room

And that is all that can be said about it. Lobby nice, staff nice but at the very lower end of 3 star Hate to see what 2 star is like. The room we were in was not like the rooms shown on the net. The shower hand held, no bracket for standing under spray, shelving almost fallen down and not that cheap.

Room Tip: Look elsewhere.

My room in this hotel was truly terrible. Tiny ( to be expected in Paris). Grundgy and very dated. One of the ceiling panels was left open by maintenance which may explain finding the most horrific looking spider on the wall. The only saving grace of this hotel was the friendly and helpful front desk staff and the close proximity to the metro. This hotel is for a tight budget and you will notice it.

We stayed in the Caravelle Hotel for a long weekend in Paris. It has very nice staff, extremely friendly person on the reception desk. The complete hotel has a very outdated feeling (especially the fish tanks), but it is clean and the price for a 4 bed room was correct and hotel as free Wifi. We did not eat breakfast, did not look attractive to me and there are so many places you can have breakfast outside. The location is very good. Just underneath Montmartre and Sacre Coeur. The first day we walked all the way down to the Opera which took us about 45 min, but we discovered the really nice quarter of Martyrs just next to the hotel. The whole street is full with nice little shops, bakeries and restaurants. There is also Pigalle metro station 2 min away. All in all it was not really a fantastic hotel, but I do not regret and I would probably stay there again.
