There are conflicting reviews about the dragon slide. Some older reviews indicate the dragon slide has been dismantled, but as of our visit in September 2017, the old dragon slide has since been replaced with a new slide. I've attached pictures of the new structure, fully open and free to the public. Signs at the park say it's for kids 8-14, but we saw little kids as well as full grown adults enjoying it. My kids (age 9 and 12) had a blast on the slide. It's quite long, high, and fast! The dragon slide is located in "Jardin du dragon" which is a playground that includes other general playground equipment. This is a great stop if the weather is good and your kids are looking for an outdoor break or a place to burn off some energy.

A few other notes: Bathrooms were locked in the off season (we came in September). This park is good paired with a visit to the Science Museum, which is in the park and right next to the dragon playground. There is also a playground for smaller kids, as well as a third play area that was closed off at the time.

great walk through the park and down the canalside from la villette to stalingrad.
watching the boats through the locks was good also.
nice plages set up either side of the canal with small cafes selling drinks at cheap prices.

We were 2 times both are for some events and activities. The park itself is ok and we enjoy every much those activities. That makes the city so vivid and live.

This is not the first time I had a problem finding the entrance for the expo on Van Gogh.
When you arrive in front of La Villette there is a big arrow pointing to an entrance. But it is not the one you want. You have to go half way around the building and after asking many people (in French) before you find it because there are other events happening at the same time (e.g. Jazz etc.) When I complained to the guardian, they said its marked at the metro exit but I took the tramway. Certainly they can do better!! Finally when I did calm down, the expo on Van Gogh was worth seeing from all the different angles of the room with lovely music by Eric Satie and others...

During the months of July and August, Parc de la Villette offer movies in the park! We saw a classic, 'Sabrina', with the one and only Audrey Hepburn! Pack some wine (note: no corkscrews or metal utensils allowed for security reasons but they are available on site) and a picnic *don't forget a blanket as it can get chilly but if you are renting a lounge chair (€7 each or 5 for €20) they come with a big fleece one)* and hangout and enjoy before the sun goes down for the show! ❤️
