Hotel Diderot has retained its old world style, maintaining it's heritage . Lovely building, snide and out. Rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast is excellent with homemade jams, croissants, fruit, local cheese, etc. the breakfast room is beautiful and staff are incredibly hospitable. I would choose to return.

The Hotel Diderot was a wonderful experience in hospitality and comfort. The rooms were spacious and the breakfasts were wonderful. Innkeepers were so pleasant. Although the rooms did not have AC ( and there was a heat wave going on) the thick walls and the fans made for plenty of comfort at night. We stayed there on a Rick Steves tour and had a lovely wine tasting with lecture. If this is offered while you are there, it is very pleasant.

Room Tip: Try to get a first floor room. It is cooler and you won't have to get your luggage up the stairs.

Thank you SUSAN for you nice review! We are glad you enjoyed your stay! Treating the Rick Steves tours with a wine tasting is always a pleasure, but it is an exclusive one ;-)

This hotel really was La Belle France at its very best, sadly we only booked for one night but hopefully will return in the future. Our room was perfect in every way as was breakfast on the terrace the following morning. The hosts were very friendly and made us feel very at home. The hotel is only a short walk from beautiful Chinon and has ample parking space which was appreciated. The breakfast taken on the terrace was perfect from the fresh bread down to the wonderful home made jams. Excellent wifi as well although the whole ambience was so peaceful it was good to just relax and let the world go by ! We would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms had a lovely seating are outside perfect for relaxing with a drink after a long journey !

Thank you MICHAEL,
it feels good to contribute to the "Belle France" experience! Everyone here at the Diderot appreciates this glowing review! And next time you visit, please do stay longer : there is so much to see around Chinon, an ideal base to explore the Loire Valley...

Super nice ! The staff is extremely thoughtful in a wonderful environment. Centrally located in the cute town of Chinon, it's the perfect spot to lay back and enjoy the Loire castles. And this breakfast... Special mention for the homemade jams :)

Wonderful hotel, quiet and lovely. 1 minute away from the center of the city of Chinon, and central to the Loire Valley! The rooms are filled with sunlight and cosy, the family running the hotel and their staff are attentive, helpful, polite and friendly. The very French breakfast with home made jams on the terrace surrounded by flowers is just perfect to start the day! Had a excellent stay.
