Not far from the centre of Dijon - a gentle stroll on the Sunday morning - the Mercure is clearly a business hotel. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. All in-room amenities are there. Separate toilet and shower room - for once a shower that has both hand attachment and rainfall head. Comfortable seating in the room and free wifi makes it easy to be online in your own room.
The restaurant was one of the nest hotel ones that I have used. The dearer fixed price menu at 40 euros was expensive, but worth it. As well as delicious starters and main courses, the cheese and dessert trolleys were an experience not to be missed - but only once during a stay if you value your waistline! There were a couple of tables trying to outdo each other on the dessert trolley with mounds of desserts being ordered - and then eaten.
We did not use the hotel outdoor pool - mainly due to the heavy rain during the afternoon - but it seemed inviting enough and was marked as being 25 degrees. Overall, a good place to stay for a short visit.More
