Good location, very nice building, friendly owner, the food is excellent but the service could be a bit more professional. Our waitress was friendly but she was not well trained.

There was a name change, this restaurant is now the "La Table gourmande de Christian Crotet".

We had a dish of deer and fried foie gras with celery mash (perfectly cooked and presented), and a starter of terrine de foie gras (excellent) and hake dumplings (quennelles de brochet) with a wonderfully creamy sauce.
The wine selection is very wide - we had a bottle of red Patriarche which was very "correct" - as the French like to say. Not everyone of the staff can give advice on the wine choice - our server was not acquainted with the word "cepage", but I am confident you will be well advised if you insist.
The service is very friendly and uncomplicated.

Its down by Place Madeleine. We really enjoyed our dinner here. The service was great. We were confused when our orders arrived because we hadn't realized that coq au vin visually very much resembles beef bourgignone! The wine was spectacular: the Rully by Jaffelin plus the Aloxe-Corton by Patriarch et fils. The black currant sorbet was exceptional and the almond flan was also OK. We would return---but be sure to get a reservation. The earlier that you dine, the quieter the room will be. Excited tourist groups can get a bit loud here. I am done. The end.

One of the best meals I've had in France! We started with the cheese, ham and roasted vegetables on toast, which was amazing, then on to some of the best escargot I've ever had, to the beef Bourgogne which was fantastic. Pair that with attentive and friendly service and you have a truly excellent experience.

What do you do with a restaurant like this. The food was spectacular, absolutely GREAT! But the service was equally bad. We were abandoned by our waitress. We repeatedly had to go track someone down to get the next course. In the end we were the last couple in the room. All the tables were empty. And still no one came to check on us - let alone to bring us coffee or desert. This is not a restaurant for the shy or faint of heart. You might never get served! But the food is outstanding, so for some it might be worth it. LOVED the meal. Too bad the service isn't at least minimal.
