We popped into this restaurant from the pouring rain because we liked the look of the decor. Having settled down and browsed the menu, we were initially slightly disappointed that we had (inadvertently) chosen an apparently Italian restaurant in the heart of France. This was all to be forgotten when the food arrived! We all chose the menu du jour and it was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. The starters were huge but beautifully presented (see photos below) and the main course was a choice between homemade tagliatelle with courgettes and gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce and lashings of Italian ham. Both were wonderful. All this was complemented with a bottle of Argentinian Malbec wine (from Mendoza) which the maitre d’ reckoned was a great choice - where in France do you hear that! If you choose this restaurant for lunch, I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

We had lunch here on a Friday. My wife and I had the lunch menu which was excellent value for money. As a starter we both had the antipasti board of cheese, hams and pesto breads.

For mains we had pastas. The pastas that we each had, including our daughter, we excellent. A really good balance of pasta and sauce which was perfect. The gnocchi and ham had an excellent balance of pasta and slices of ham that had been freshly cut.

Very much recommended and if we are in the area again we will return.

Love all things French including its cuisine but same goes for Italian so Cafe Loiuse offers the best of both worlds...Italian in a French medieval town!
The decor is chic and the food while authentically Italian has a French twist with local produce giving it wonderful blend.
The owners are wonderful hosts and we love this awesome alternative occasionally from the rich French cuisine.

In a region where every restaurant seem to serve only duck and meat dishes, it's a relief to find a quality Italian restaurant. Their fresh pasta dishes were delicious, as were the desserts. The set menu is great value, and the panna cota with red berries was probably the tastiest dessert I ate on this holiday. They could offer a better range of wines by the glass, but otherwise there are only positives and I highly recommend it.

My wife and I had 2 courses.. Drank local red wine, although the restaurant is style modern Italian. Great Wine list including some great Italian wines.
