Clearly this is a popular little bistrot, and not long after we arrived - sans reservation - other would-be diners were being turned away or asked to come back later. The haddock parmenter with cider sauce was quite honestly one of the nicest things I have eaten this year: the fish nicely flaked, and the potato not too smooth, but with some texture remaining. The lovely sauce and garnish of apple ‘matches’ rounded it off nicely. A pudding of almond cake was a nice balance of crunchy and soft, although I have to admit I struggled to find any hint of chestnut in the accompanying sauce, pleasant though it was. Wine by the glass was good. The young and energetic couple worked non-stop all evening, and clearly make an excellent team. Arrive early or book!
