We arrived at 13.45 - a nearby restaurant made it clear they couldn't really be bothered with us. Le St Louis cleared a double table & made us very welcome. We had a mix of 20€ menu & à la carte. Great food, carafe of red wine & profiteroles. Tartare of fish was excellent as was salade de gésiers. Magret & Confit de canard superb. No rush to have us finish. Would go again. Good price/quality.

Plenty of restaurants to choose from in a quaint square in the middle of the winding side streets of Perigueux, within earshot of the Cathedral bells.
Simple choice from the €20 menu: pâté de foie gras, confit de canard, and crême brullée. There was plenty of other choice but when in Périgord ... duck it has to be!
Charming young waiter with excellent English who happened to go to the University of Sheffield, earning some money before starting his Masters.
Food beautifully presented and tasty. We didn't need the fries as well as the lovely pommes sarladaises.
Crême brullée - just right to finish - laced with tiny specks of vanilla; delicious.
Excellent coffee just to prevent a snooze until we get back to our cottage!
Thoroughly enjoyed, thoroughly recommend it.

My wife and I had dinner here twice during our stay in Perigueux. The entrecôte, the chicken and the salmon were very good. You could eat inside or outside on the square in very pleasant surroundings. Our waiter was great and spoke English, which helped us!

My wife and I had just arrived from a long day of driving and went out looking for a nice place to have a good meal but nothing fancy. My wife had the entrecôte and frites. She loved it. I got the 20€ menu and had a salad with duck gressier confit and it was just amazing! The it was a steak with frites and dessert was profiteroles that were just incredible. One has to remember that steak in Europe is never the same as in the USA so don't expect BBQ 16 oz steaks. However they just tasted great with a chilled Rose from Bergerac! The whole experience was wonderful!

We start looking for lunch around 2PM: an hour when most places in France close, especially in small towns. Here it is, in a small square we discover Le Saint Louis where they are happy to sit us and bring menus. Menu €27 has 3 choices in each category of first, second, dessert or cheeses. Service is friendly and prompt, food good and the local Berjerac red-great. After serving us coffee, they inquire if it's OK for them to finally leave, “but you can stay as long as you wish”. Great place
