Cheerful, helpful staff, clean rooms this is not four star luxury but for a base in the centre of town, short walk to the station it was great for us. Coffee could have been warmer at breakfast but overall this hotel was just right for what we needed

The description of the hotel is misleading as it specifies parking available - which is a few minutes walk in the public carpark at E3.70 for an overnight stay and then another E1.40 per hour. The road is closed and in the rain it was very uncomfortable to walk with overnight bag. We had gone round and round for ages till we realised that the satnav was confused and could not find the place. Rooms were ok and clean enough but the 'courtyard view' means that you have to go outside to get to the room which again in the pouring rain is horrible. Saving grace was that there is a little family run pizzeria opposite with excellent pasta and a pizza oven. I would not stay there again as there are plenty of other small hotels which are more convenient and better overall.

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms are quieter but you have to walk outside to access.

Booked a 'chambre grand confort' (as described with pictures on their website) through booking.com. Arrived to be shown a box room which only just squeezed a double bed in and a cupboard for a shower room. Grand comfort it was not..... left and went round the corner to the Best Western Hôtel Continental - fantastic place....

Room Tip: Stay in another hotel

Good morning Sir COULSON,

you have booked a comfort room in first time by email , this the first room that you have seen ,
and then you have booked a best comfort room on booking.com, but this room wasn't wrote on the register , we know ,this is the reason that my colleague you offer the best room with shower , because only 5 best comfort rooms have bath ... the next time mentionned on the booking that you prefered, moreover the comfort room near the yard complies the standards 2 stars and are very appreciate.
thank you,see you soon in Pau.

Bonjour Monsieur Coulson,

We stayed at Hotel Adour with our two daughters (11&13) for several nights. It was a returning trip to Pau for the parents. We lived in the center of Pau 20 years ago for a whole winter. So the situation was perfect for us, only few blocks away from our old student apartment. But Pau has changed a lot and especially the center. It is clean and the Adour hotel is also clean and stands by a closed street so you are not disturbed by the traffic there. Old winding stairs give it a style but it has been refurbished in a good way. We had a family room with two twins beds and enjoyed our stay. But it is hard to get a parking close to the hotel. I chose to park close to the trainstation, just 20 min. walk from the hotel. Plenty of magasines to read and coffee and tea available on each floor.

We stayed at Hotel Adour one night before our hike and one night at the end. Both times we arrived late, after 8 pm, but we had been given the code to enter the hotel and our room was reserved with the key on the door. We thought it was a very good system. Friendly staff in the morning, very clean rooms, nothing to complain about!
