No table on arrival but the staff made us some drinks at the bar and found us a good table very shortly. The food was fantastic, I've had Dansaks in so many restaurants but this was the best I've had by a country mile! The Bhuna & Jalfrezi were pretty mega too (and hot)! All the staff were attentive and polite and the atmosphere was great! Will definitely be back next time I'm in manchester, thanks

Very good Indian food, good service reasonably priced, one of the best Indian restaurants I have visited outside London or India

Booked a table for 3 for 6.30. Arrived on time. Restaurant was largely empty but we were kept waiting for 10 minutes. They tried to get us to buy a drink during this time (us, with a 5-year-old child). Eventually we were shown to a table and, as we were sitting down, another waitress came over and said no, you can't sit there, you must sit at this, a different table. The waitresses started arguing with each other. At which point we walked out. Nobody tried to stop us leaving or to compensate for their cock-up. Appallingly poor customer service. Avoid this restaurant. Go to Asha's on Peter St (nearby). Or go to any of the many other Indian restaurants in Manchester. But not Swadesh.

First thing when entering the restaurant you see is well tonight design. Open spaces, but separated by see through curtains.

Went there with our colleagues while on the course on Portland Street. Got recommended the place.

All of 5 of us ordered from afternoon deal menu. 13.90 for a 3 course menu..

Papadoms where very tasty and perfectly cooked with great dips and salad. Chicken samosa was very taste and perfectly seasoned ( shame it was a bit small in size). Main course was lamb Karachi for me. Again perfectly delivered with seasoning and lamb was perfectly tender.

Recommend to everyone. Meat eaters or vegetarians. The menu is massive !

Evening meal with friends. hoping for relaxed meal but felt being watched for time all the time. we would't mind but the restaurant was only a few in. they need to think about customer s more. also charged for a couple of drinks that we noticed later. maybe a mistake but not sure about that.. will try Akbars next time. supposed to be good reputation.
