Abel Heywood is well locate. Really close to the unicorn station of the Manchester city free shuttle. Their staff are warm-hearted and helpful. We stayed in the deluxe suite for one night. Room is spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is outstanding. As a boutique, it deserves its history.

The Abel Heywood is so well situated for everything in Manchester, we were really pleased with the room, location and service in general. The price seemed fairly reasonable. Nice shower gels, soap etc provided if you’re flying!
The room (standard double) had a comfy bed, great shower and enough space for 2 people for 2 nights. The coffee provided wasn’t great for the price of the room and “boutique hotel” description, but otherwise great.
We didn’t book breakfast but decided to have one, the description sounds fab (£9 each), but when it arrived we were both really disappointed. One slice of white toast each, deep fried, pasty looking sausages, very fatty bacon, cold beans and a slab of dense hash brown which tasted awful. Such a shame as everything else had been good. Some people seem to have had good breakfasts so I’m not sure if the normal chef was away, but definitely not worth anywhere near the money.
It’s worth mentioning that even on the second floor, it’s noisy until the pub shuts, but otherwise very peaceful and good air con/heating.

A pleasant, clean, stylish modern hotel in a good position in the city centre of Manchester. Quiet so you get a good night's sleep and huge comfy bed. Good choice of breakfast, although it wasn't clear exactly what was included if you had paid as part of the room charge. Secure parking at reduced rate overnight opposite. Would go again.

We were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. From the exterior, it is a pub, and initial impressions inside confirm this. The hotel part is lurking round the back. Reception is not always manned, so find someone in the bar if necessary.

Room was clean, modern, warm with a lovely shower. Free wifi, bottles of water and tea/coffee in the room. Small, but cosy and comfortable. Note - the mattress was very hard, which could be an issue for some, but not for us.

The bar area serves good food, very good craft beer and was pretty busy for a Sunday night. A full Breakfast for £9.50 is good value these days and again, very nice.

Set on the southern edge of the Northern Quarter, it has easy access to the Arndale Centre, Tram stops and the rest of Manchester City Centre shopping. We found the location to be very convenient. They do not have a car park, but the NCP Northern Quarter is next door. Hotel guests get a special rate of £12 for 24 hours (ask at reception). Luggage storage available at reception.

Staff in the hotel and the pub were all very friendly and helpful.

A nice idiosyncrasy: check-out at 11, but breakfast available until 12!

Friendly staff and a nice room, but a bit cold, because there were no central heating. Nice breakfast. Location was perfect, the free citybus was near. Good value for money. I can recommend this hotel.
