We stayed here for 2 nights and is in a very good location next to Manchester Piccadilly Train Station and close to all amenities in Manchester city centre.

The hotel rooms are spacious and very comfortable and the front desk were very welcoming and helpful.

The hotel has a spa attached which is a good way to spend an hour or two whether on business or leisure visit.

Definitely one of the better hotels to stay in Manchester.

We first stayed at the hotel in May and it was very disappointing. The check-in process was horrendous, took over an hour and we were queuing out of the door. But the real disaster was the fact that the fire alarm went off at midnight, and continued for 3.5 hours !!!!! The staff were clearly stressed, the fire brigade came & went as there was no fire, however no one knew how to turn the alarms off. The sound was deafening so everyone was in the foyer.....to say it was chaos would be an understatement.
We then had to negotiate very hard to get a discount off a second stay as we were offered no refund on this first night.
We stayed again recently and had a far more pleasant experience checking in, and I can’t fault the rooms. But the bar staff were inexperienced and the service was awful. The breakfast offering was pretty awful and the restaurant was clearly under staffed. Every table was full of dirty plates, we had to wait ages and chase continually for food we had ordered. It wasn’t even that busy. So they really need to get their customer service in line with what you would expect from a hotel of this calibre.

I was looking for an affordable but comfortable stay near the station and this hotel came up on my search .

I was not disappointed (bar a few constructive criticisms )

The hotel is a short walk from the station . It’s huge - and looks like it was built in the 60s from the outside .

The inside is more luxurious . Staff are really friendly and reception is easy .

Rooms are on upper floor along an incredibly long well carpeted corridor : the size of which gives a clue to your room :

My room : 540 was massive . Ok not USA massive but certainly the biggest non club level room I’ve stayed in in Europe. There’s enough space for a large family or a good party .

Two arm chairs are ideal for evening drinks , and the bed is super comfy (although the pillows are so thin as to offer no support : suggestion1 - have the option of firm pillows)

Bathroom is narrow but well thought out : marble finish and includes separate shower and bath and gorgeous Elemis bath and shower goodies .

My second suggestion relates to the polished wood in the room : it needs repolishing

One other hint : hotels of this quality should not hide tea and coffee making things in a drawer and should have a decent in room coffee machine

After I’d been awed by my room I had a trek back to the lifts, down to the ground floor, across the reception and bar areas and upstairs to the restaurant (which was prebooked at reception ).

The restaurant appears to be fabulous if you are into steak . If you are vegetarian my advice really is avoid it. Poor choices poorly executed at higher than central London prices

Breakfast in the morning is better .but still no veggie options like veggie sausages . But there is a nice hot buffet .

Overall I’d recommend the hotel and rooms but suggest you look wider for somewhere to eat if there is a non steak eater in your group

Would I personally book again? Possibly

Visited for the evening. Price was good for room only, please be aware that there is an extra charge for parking, but it is a very secure car park. Room was lovely (switch the air con off) Staff were excellent, nothing too much bother for them. We didn't eat at the hotel and just had soft drinks in the bar which was reasonably priced. Wouldn't stay for more that a night but a night visit is all you could want from a clean hotel close to the centre of Manchester.

Easy to find hotel in a great location for exploring the city centre. Stayed in a twin room with queen beds which were really comfortable. The bathroom was fab with a lovely deep bath and the shower was also great. Everything you need is in the room, kettle, tea and coffee, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, also great tv! You can also request fresh milk which is a real bonus! The corridors looked a bit tired and could do with some new carpet but once inside the room the decor is greatly improved.
