We visited because the breakfast at our hotel was too expensive.

For £4.50 each we got an excellent, hot breakfast. Mine was veggie, my companion had a full English.

Service was quick and friendly.

A tiny little place, full of workmen and those in the know. Super friendly down-to-earth staff, fantastic value and a great breakfast. What else do you want?

Visited again and will go every week until it shuts down. Not many places like this : basic down-to-earth but fantastic cooking and what was once a traditional menu ,eg homemade cheese/onion pie with chips/gravy (brilliant) , full English (you need to be hungry but worth it), chips/gravy my daughter loves it) . Absolutely brilliant value and service. The ladies are fantastic and nothing is a problem .Genuinely deserves 6 stars in everything!! It`s a serious loss to us who know it - go now or regret it.

Heard this place is closing, devastated! Been here a few times for a quick easy and cheap breakfast with a whole lot of taste. This is the kind of breakfast place I LOVE

And it still does what it says on the tin, but sadly, not for much longer as it is due to close down for demolition in June.
Which is a great shame as it provides the best value food in the city. No pretentions, nothing poncified or arty-farty about this place, it is basic, even a bit cramped, but for a decent plateful of good, tasty basic grub, you can do no better!
Their Steak & Onion Pie with mushy peas, chips & gravy is a good tasty meal to fill you up for the day!!
