“Amazing wedding Venue”
Reviewed 9 March 2012

Only just got round to writing this review! We got married in June and had our wedding reception at the lovely didsbury house hotel! Every aspect of the reception was perfect, the stunning interior, great service, delicious food! We had exclusive use of the hotel and all the bedrooms were beautiful. All our guests commented on the uniqueness of the hotel. The manager Andrew and staff were all very helpful and went out of their way to help planning and on the day! We had a fantastic day and were so glad to have chosen the Didsbury House Hotel.

My review may be slightly biased because we were given a free up-grade to our room! However, this really is a lovely place to stay if you need accommodation in Didsbury or south Manchester. There is plenty of parking space; reception is efficient and friendly; the room we had (room 50) had three separate rooms, lots of space, a very comfortable bed, a terrific bathroom with two adjacent bath tubs and a double shower; the breakfast was excellent. There are two public lounges (both very pleasant) and the building is a very attractive and interesting Victorian mansion.

Room Tip: Room 50 is wonderful!

Really enjoyed my stay at Didsbury House, the staff are great, very friendly and helpful, and made me very welcome.

I was travelling solo on business, stayed in an eclectic villa room which was beautiful, very comfortable king sized bed, plenty of tv channels, roll top bath in the bedroom (!) books to read. Room also has a walk in monshoon shower.

I ate breakfast in the hotel and thought it was better than a lot of comparable hotels, it's a continental buffet situation (food was generally good quality) but they also cook hot items to order fresh, which looked nice also. Decor wise the hotel is beautiful, I really loved the look of the place, there is a small gym, plus a roomy sitting room and a bar, if you wanted to be a bit more sociable.

Didn't eat dinner at the hotel, it's only a few minutes walk from Didsbury High Street, where there are tons of places to eat and drink.

A few very minor niggles which stopped me giving it 5 stars, internet really slow, plumbing was noisy, the curtains in my bedroom were rather skimpy tab tops which don't quite block out the sunlight (I'm a light sleeper) and there were no shower caps available, for someone with a lot of naturally curly hair water that is not good!

Overall I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Picked this as it was close to a venue for a birthday party in Didsbury, so location was key.

We arrived earlier than permitted check in (having checked before) and the helpful staff on reception showed us to our room and gave us the tour.
We chose the Duplex Room, and it was a good size, with characterful creakiness given the age of the property. The room faced the back of the house, away from the side facing the main road so it was quiet enough.
Breakfast was very good with a range of decent hearty choices, well needed after a big night out.
Very happy with the stay and would recommend.

Room Tip: Room 35 is the Duplex Room advertised on the website - if you are expecting the room with the bathtu...

We stayed here for one night prior to our honeymoon. We live locally and have heard good reviews about this hotel. It's one of the more upmarket ones in the area and we thought we would treat ourselves rather than returning home from our wedding. However we were so disappointed. We had high expectations for the place and when we were shown to our room it was such a let down, it was really pokey and dark plus there was a big stain on the ceiling!
The bathroom was nice with a large bath and the breakfast was lovely. On check out we were not asked if we enjoyed our stay or any other pleasantries one expects from an establishment like this. Very poor in comparison to where we stayed for our wedding and honeymoon out of the 4 hotels we booked for our wedding Didsbury House Hotel was a big disappointment. I'm afraid it gets the thumbs down from us which is a shame as we like to support local business.
