My partner and I stayed at the Marriott in Manchester city to attend an event at the Great John Street Hotel which is just around the corner from the Marriott. The entrance and lobby of the hotel is lovely - you can tell as soon as you walk in this is a high end hotel that meets the usual standard of any Marriott.

Check in was smooth and the receptionist very pleasant and chatty! It was evident all staff are very well trained and hospitable. We stayed in a deluxe double room, if we were staying longer we probably would of booked a suite but for one night knowing we weren't going to be in the room for long a normal room was fine. Was pleasantly surprised how nice the room was, the only downside was the lighting wasnt too bright in the room (i needed the entire desk to lay out my make up and do it there!) but the bathroom has good lighting if youre getting ready for an event and need better light.

The bed was so extremely comfortable. Theres a good 24 hr room service and good wine/drink selection. They also offer starbucks drinks and you get 20% off if youre staying in the hotel! As coffee lovers we definitely made the most of this. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff in letting us know about all facilities and specifically info and guidance on whats in the area.

We went out to our event at the rooftop of great john street hotel and returned around 11pm ish to the lovely bar at the hotel. All the barstaff were so friendly and clearly experienced. It is such a nice setting to sit in the lovely comfortable lounge with some drinks. Really enjoyed this.

In the morning we went down for breakfast around 9:30. I did expect it to be busy around this time for breakfast on a saturday morning but it was extremely organised. The breakfast room is big and has loads of booths overlooking the river beside the hotel. Comfiest breakfast I have ever had in a hotel! Not rushed and all staff very attentive. Specific mention to the lovely gentleman who showed us to our table and got us our tea/coffee, he was very professional, i wish i had caught his name! He was most likely a F&B supervisor/manager. The breakfast food and coffee was lovely.

We never got much time to fully experience the hotel however what we did, we thought was great. We will definitely be back to this lux hotel.

Thanks to all staff for a great stay.

A birthday treat from my girlfriend. We arrived early but we dropped our bags off in a secure room. We returned back and we checked in. The room was excellent with exposed brick and woodwork of the old warehouse. The only down side was the view over the roof of the kitchen and the consequential smells.

booked here afterseeing all the loverly pictures and thought we would give it ago,
very nice rooms clean tidy and presntable , nice clean bathroom etc.

only downside for us was the double bed we had there was big ridge in the middle so keptrolling into the middle which meant wasnt great sleep and hummin noise all the time being there but unsure if thats all the building work going on around there.

decided to eat there as food looked nice we ordered the burgers which was very nice to be fair.

staff very helpfull our waitress was an australian lady vey good and pleasant.

breakfast was a buffet style and again was nice , hot fresh and tasty....

would we stay again yes we would.

ould check the bed first tho lol.

After staying at a certain hotel in Eastbourne not a Marriott this hotel was absolutely fabulous. We stayed for one night whilst dropping our son back to Manchester for university but cannot praise the staff more. The hotel location is great very close to the city centre but you do not get the impression of being in the middle of the city and it is a very relaxing atmosphere. The room 325 was very spacious , clean and had great character with wooden beams. We did not eat at the hotel but had a couple of drinks in the bar which again has lovely character and very helpful and friendly bar staff, breakfast is also taken here and if you can get a table overlooking the river it is a very relaxing way to start the day. Overall would highly recommend this hotel both for it’s character but also the helpful and friendly staff who are very professional and welcoming. Thank you for a lovely overnight stay.

We booked the hotel through a discount website and have to say it was amazing value. The building is impressive and in a reasonable position. We were able to walk to restaurants and the tram station easily.
Our room was of a good size and well appointed with a standard clean bathroom and plenty of hot water.
Breakfast was included in our stay and was enjoyable with a hot and cold buffet. Seating by the window overlooking the river was nice and I’m sure is amazing when the weather is less gloomy!
After a 6 hour journey on a Friday we used the hotels valet parking service that was satisfactory but quite pricey at £17 per day- there are a couple of ncp car parks close by that I would use should I visit again.
