My father and I stayed here last week and really enjoyed the stay. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Grounds were beautiful (for wintertime) and location was nice for touring the Cotswolds. Also Tewkesbury is a nice town for dinner and shopping.

Breakfast each morning was extensive and enjoyable. Great selection.

Our room was a bit cozy (read: small), but then again this is England and rooms are not massive like they are in the US.

To those reviews that complained about parking...I don't know what you're talking about. There were limited spots, but still with the hotel at capacity, we found a spot with no problem.

I would stay here again.

Stayed between Xmas and New Year as a family group. Bedrooms are set along VERY long corridors so a real trek to get to the room if near far end (as we were). Also rooms overlooked the bin area so not a nice view - luckily not in room much but were disturbed one night when lots of glass being emptied. The swimming pool is reasonable size but once just a few people in there trying to do 'lengths' it is crowded plus the shallow end so shallow hard to swim in that section. They have a small steam room and sauna. Both ok. Well equipped gym and also exercise video available. Turned out it was a bit far from the main Villages in area so lots of car travel. Hotel Car Park in sections so if cannot get into nearest one can be trek to the hotel. An okay basic stay location but nothing special - then to be fair had not expected that much as reasonably priced. Only ever ate breakfast there - which was okay. Could be quite a queue for the coffee machine.

Room Tip: If in any way immobile ensure ask for rooms near the lift.

Dear NickDavis

Thank you for posting a review of your stay here over the festive period.

I am disappointed to read that your stay did not meet your expectations, if requested, we can allocate rooms nearer to reception and of course we do have various room types within the Hotel some of which will give a nice view of the 18 hole championship golf course.

With regards the pool this is purely a leisure pool and of course there is a Jacuzzi available also.

On a positive note I am pleased to read that you enjoyed the gym and breakfast.

With kind regards.

I hate places like this. They have No character at all. You could be anywhere in any country. Stayed for an event and the best you can say is that coffee was non descript and tuna sandwiches too soggy, really an uninspiring venue, with uninspiring bar and lounge.

Dear Nigel H

Thank you for posting a review of your recent visit to Hilton Puckrup Hall.

I was obviously disappointed to read your review in particular your comments about the Hotel when in addition to the main Hotel building, we have a Regency Manor House with 16 bedrooms, 18 hole championship golf course, health club, beauty spa and newly refurbished restaurant here at Hilton Puckrup Hall.

I do apologise for the food and beverage issues you experienced, this is certainly not the normal level of quality of food and drink you would be served.

I am sorry we did not live up to your expectations on this occasion.

With kind regards.

Stayed in the " Manor House " an anex to the main hotel which was for me far more relaxed than the main building , the rooms are spacious with good facilities yes a few stairs to climb yes you might have to open your own door ! But you don't have corporate yobs disturbing your kip . Check in was simple and efficient full marks to the team , breakfast is buffet style with a good selection of stuff you are offered a coffee and juice on entering the reastutrant my advice ignore , use the coffee machine in the self service area grab a juice just tasted better . Did not avail myself of the leisure facilities but from what I saw looked Ok , hotel bar was more Weatherspoons than Hilton But in fairness this is a more business focused enterprise .

Room Tip: Use anex for more relaxed stay also your car will be close by.

Dear Christopher P

Thanks for posting a review of your stay in the Manor House here at Hilton Puckrup Hall, I'm pleased to read that you found this relaxing.

Due to the age of the Manor House building and it being Grade 2 listed we are unable to install a lift in this building.

I'm pleased to read that you found the check in efficient, I will pass on your comments to the Front of House Team.

I do hope we have the opportunity of welcoming you back in the not too distant future and thank you for taking the time to give us yur valuable feedback.

Puckrup Hall is fairly modern hotel located a five minute drive out of Tewkesbury and very close to the M50. Set in extensive grounds, it is modern, low rise with a golf course attached. Although I imagine that its bread and butter trade is business conferences and wedding receptions, the fact that it has a spa, swimming pool, a large restaurant and stylish communal areas, makes it a great venue for a weekend break.
The guest rooms are of a reasonable size, well furnished, well sound-proofed and in a very good state of repair. With only two floors of rooms, some are a fair distance from reception. If this might present a problem, an early contact with the hotel would be worthwhile.
The restaurant was very good. The dinner menu was quite extensive and although the choices of our party were quite varied, all were very satisfied with the quality and presentation of the food, which was very reasonably priced. The cheapest bottles of wine were in the region of £25, which is probably not bad for the location. The breakfast was buffet-style, but offered a full-English as well as continental options.
Some of our party had hoped to avail themselves of the spa facilities. Unfortunately there was no availability. We had only booked the weekend a couple of weeks before, but if you are very keen on any spa treatment it would be worth booking early and checking on availability. The swimming pool was of a good size, but as you might expect on a Saturday afternoon in winter, very popular with families with young children.
The attached golf course is fairly short, but interesting. About 25 years old, it is starting to mature. Despite the weather, the greens were in a pretty good condition. The fairways on the back ten were very wet and only just playable. A couple of tips if you are interested in playing in the winter. Understandably given the wetness, there was a trolley ban on the last ten holes, so if you want to play make sure you have a stand bag. Apparently there is a competition on most Sunday mornings, with the 1st tee closed until clear, so if you are going to Puckrup Hall, check in advance and book a tee time, before booking the hotel. Our three-ball thought that four and a half hours for a round was on the slow side, especially given how cold it was, but that may be typical for Sunday morning golf throughout the country. The winter rate of £20 per round for hotel residents was very reasonable for a course of this quality.
Throughout the hotel and golf club, the staff were all very pleasant, attentive and helpful. We came for a Saturday night family get together. Our deal for half board, which included a three course dinner and a full English breakfast for two, at around £150 per room, was excellent value.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Puckrup Hall.
