Description: Small independent cafe-bistro serving provincial French "peasant food" - This is not fine dining! Its loud, noisy and rustic.

Chef clearly knew his stuff as well as wine experts.
Good menu presenting options for all tastes and requirements.
Typical french dishes such as Duck/ cassoulet and french patisserie. But also twists on classic British fish and chips- posh style.
French cafe decor.
Gets very busy!
Amazing French wine selection.
Shop part of bistro. Great cheeses!

Had lunch here with a lovely lady friend - we didn't book but were made very welcome. Food was quite good although the excellent Cassoulet was over salted for my taste. Glass of Fleurie went down a treat. Coffee here is good too. £25 a head spent and good value at that.

I tend to default to this venue - it offers a modest choice but always cooked and presented perfectly. The choice of wine is excellent and the new addition of the cheese, wine and gin "shop" provides a wonderful twist to their offering. Food price is good value and rightly commands top slot in town

Again we visited Frederic and food outstanding we will visit again soon.
The portion sizes very good amazing fish dishes so hard to choose I opted for chicken again this was so tender! However I had no room for pudding but everyone else managed to.
Excellent.
