Visited here as a party of 4 from December 30th for 2 nights over New Year. Although we had a problem with the first rooms we were allocated the staff very quickly rectified this and moved us.

We arrived to a treat of Afternoon tea which was lovely. The evening meal the first evening was superb, BUT the New Years Eve 7 course meal was just exquisite, served very quickly, hot and presented beautifully and tasted superb. Evening entertainment was extremely good and overall we had a.brilliant 2 night stay and will be back for next New Year. Can't fault the rooms, views, staff or cleanliness. Well done all.

Dear Kath & Den,

Thanks for the great feedback. Our NYE Gala really is the showcase event of the year and we are so pleased that you both enjoyed it. We look forward to welcome you back, as friends, later this year.

Kind regards,

We visited the Buckatree for two days, I can't say that it was a particularly 'memorable' trip...nothing wrong with it really, just...well ordinary.

It seemed its main drive was on weddings at the weekends and corporate/business customers during the week. Again nothing wrong with this.

We had a 'dinner included' deal and this was very ordinary, particularly for the money. the second night we chose to eat out as the menu was very over priced for a 'pub' menu.

The breakfast was again, what you would expect, however it was well cooked and self service (the fresh croissants were very good!).

The rooms were quite clean but quite dated and our room had a large damp patch the ceiling, and certainly substandard for the £100+ we paid via superbreak vouchers.

The staff were young and friendly and very good.

All in all o.k. If I were sent there for a night while on a conference from work, but as a 'romantic Autumn break' no.

We have stayed at this hotel on many occasions over several years and found that they deliver a consistent value for money stay. This time we were again greeted by the staff in a friendly yet professional manner in which they will go the extra mile so you enjoy your stay.

During this stay , the room was clean and tidy , plenty of hot water and an excellent supply of bath sheets. The food was as usual of a very high standard in both choice and quality, this is always excellent. The evening meals were served quickly, efficiently in order to keep our meals hot. The buffet night was amazing with a fantastic choice of hot and cold items. Breakfast was served in the restaurant with a good variety of items, always hot and topped up for guests regularly. It was good to see Martin, Val, Sue and Siri again and to be treated like old friends.

Thank you for a great stay which has set us up for the New Year. Wayne, Martin and the Seniors Managers must be proud of the culture they have created in which certainly the customer is king, thank you . We look forward to seeing you again soon.

the entertainment was excellent with all the guests entering into the spirit of the theme.

Room Tip: Best views are over the front gardens from the bedrooms

We had the Christmas package at Buckatree Hall. I was concerned that the double bed was standard not king but it was extremely comfortable. Room overlooking the pond was a good size, perhaps a little chilly during the day but the rest of the hotel was fine. The staff were excellent and very helpful. If I had been told housekeeping were not coming in on Christmas Day I would have happily made the bed instead I was worried about being in the way when they wanted to tidy up!
We were very impressed by the food. Vegetables cooked perfectly, lovely fish and scrumptious puddings. The idea of asking guests to chose their next meal seemed odd at first but it guaranteed that when you went into the dining room everything was ready for you.
Most of the entertainment was good but the singer was a little disappointing.
Overalll an enjoyable stay and we did not have to watch our grandchildren poking screens all day!
