This hotel is either still being built or renovated.
The hotel does not have a car park so you have to stay in the station long stay car park which is £8.80 per day even if you’re just staying overnight. It’s a short walk from the station to the hotel but would be inconvenient if you had a lot of luggage.
As soon as I entered the room I could head running water, the toilet was constantly flushing and it became clear the built in cistern lid had been removed before as the lid was not fitted.
Reception advised that someone would come up to look at it and I assumed I would be sat there all evening whilst waiting for them. To be fair a lady came up immediately and managed to fix the problem. She also offered to change my room if I preferred.
The door to the bathroom served a dual purpose as it closed the toilet one way and the whole bathroom the other way, very clever except it didn’t actually work. The door had not been hung properly so snagged on the frame and could not be fully closed, something that should have been picked up during the renovation snagging stage before allowing a customer to experience it.
I liked the plugs with usb charging points as most other chain hotels don’t have these and having plugs next to your bed was great. I stay in a hotel mot weeks with work and you wouldn’t believe the amount that don’t have plugs next to the bed.
Breakfast was pretty good for an express hotel although the cooked buffet was dry and over cooked. Nice selection of breakfast items and paper grab and go bags are available for those who want to take something with them.
One lift wasn’t working which was annoying when we tried to leave as it kept going up from the lobby instead of going down another level to the ground floor. The stairs were out of action due to them being used for the construction site entrance for the renovations or building work that was going on in other parts of the hotel.
The staff were friendly and helpful although they did manage to check in my colleague to a room with a man already in the room!!

So once you get in room all is good and comfortable exactly what you expected.
The challenge is finding the door to get in hotel(little signage), lots of stairs to lobby which seem to only contain workman and then the lift.....
Why can’t you fix the lift and put a light in the other one? Its quite dangerous in the dark. Colleagues stayed months ago with same issue ms and seems nothing has changed.
Other challenge, don’t bother waiting for lift at 8-8:15 as only there for cleaners filling it up and stopping every floor, to let them in and out. Cleaner come first and customers are after thought.
Ok i back to jury’s.....

Stayed here for one night and never again.

My room was so noisy with a terrible bed. Back ache in the morning, not happy. All you can here at night is doors slamming and chattering.

The food in the restaurant was awful, breakfast and dinner with a limited selection and what seemed to be reheated food. My only recommendation is to eat out.

A short review on somewhere I won’t be going back too.

Terrible.

This place is not for the faint hearted, we arrived as a coach party and tried to get into the place, bearing in mind the reception is on the second floor. We decided to take the stairs, so after 6 flights of stairs later we managed to get to reception and book in, we were on the 5th floor, as the lift was not working correctly again we took to the stairs, absolutely knackered by the time we got to the top carrying bags etc, then we had to go back down for dinner.
To cut a long story short, the room was lovely, the meals were ok but the street, even at this height was noisy overnight, we won’t stay here again..

Room Tip: Book another hotel
