Description: Who we are: We are a Spanish style TAPAS BAR. Independently owned and run, which relocated to larger premises in October 2014. This means we are a bar that serves tapas, not a restaurant. Because we are often busy and buzzing, we are not the ideal place for a quiet romantic night out, but we offer a warm welcome to all our and aim to restore you, whether you're in need of food, drink or company. What we do: All our food is prepared here from fresh, locally sourced or imported Spanish ingredients. Our extensive hot and cold tapas menu changes regularly and we list 6-8 daily specials. We have a range of Spanish wines, sherries, beers and spirits. We have some tables in the bar, which can be booked (max 8 people) at lunchtimes or evenings, except Friday and Saturday evenings, when it's first come, first served. Closed Monday lunchtime only, open 6 lunchtimes and 7 nights a week. On Sunday lunchtimes, we serve paella, as is the tradition in Spain, with a choice of mixed, seafood or vegetarian paellas. Advance booking for paella is essential.

Best place to eat in swindon by far! It's always super busy so be strategic about when you go. The food is incredible and the prices are spot on. Never had a bad dish here and is easily my favourite place to eat!

We come this way many more times than that as my wife’s from Wiltshire. Note to self, come here more often. Stripped back, simple decor, a bar in the right place which says straight away they’re not falling down the greed rabbit hole of extra tables at the expense of being true to the restaurant the owners clearly planned. Atmosphere, great food, no pretence.

We grazed on delicious meatballs with a deep, unrushed tomato sauce, spinach croquets, bass, cheeses, Iberico pork, lentiljas & tortilla amongst many others. All the classic tapas dishes you would hope for & more, clearly prepared with knowledge and love. To add to that, you can have a very good bottle of wine for under £25.

In short, if you fancy a relaxed afternoon or evening with some wonderful bites, go here & settle in.

Decided to go for Tapas so rang for a booking. They do not take bookings. Gave it a go anyway.
Very busy so they take your name to a waiting list.
We bought a Bottle of wine and waited, and waited. Two hours later and a second bottle of wine
still nothing so we got a taxi home.
They nature of tapas means that people order a couple of dishes then have a few more drinks then order a few more tapas.
Won't bother again until you can book a slot at the bar or a table
Much preferred the previous location round the corner next to the French restaurant.

We’re so sorry we had such a busy night when you came. We did advise the wait would be at least 2 hours when you arrived, and suggested you might eat at the bar, but you chose to wait. We did our best to accommodate you but, short of asking someone else to leave, couldn’t get you a table.

Please be aware we do take reservations Sunday to Thursday evenings, and any lunchtime (except Mondays.) On Friday and Saturday nights, as you point out, we operate a first come first serve system with a waiting list, so everyone gets treated fairly and in the order in which they arrive. We try to estimate the waiting time, explaining it’s always a guess. The nature of tapas eating and drinking - which you clearly understand - means that for some people half an hour is enough, for others two hours is not!

We look forward to seeing you on another night when you can reserve, by phone or via the link on our website.

Food is nice though it does not exactly match expectations. Staff are nice and friendly and it is a pleasure eat there. Nonetheless, one would expect real ham tapas instead of cheap Lidl-like ham and some more Spanish-like bravas but it is quite good altogether.

Firstly thank you so much for the positive parts of your review. Our staff work hard, not only in the kitchen but also front of house, to make sure our customers enjoy themselves. If you are familiar with Spanish air-dried ham, you’ll know there are numerous different levels of quality and price. We offer a six-month cured Jamon Serrano (mountain ham) on our menu, imported for us from Spain, and not via Lidl or any other supermarket! On our Specials Board, we also sometimes offer the much richer, tastier, longer cured and more expensive acorn-fed jamon iberico de bellota, so that officionados such as yourself can have the choice. Our patatas bravas are from a country recipe and you are right, they are very different from the chips with spicy ketchup which are all too often passed off as “bravas” in Spanish tourist resorts.
