Slade Castle is actually closed to public I believe (there's a sign on its wall saying 'private property - no entry', however read somewhere on the web that you can arrange access to see the inside of it through some locals) but due to being located so close to the Hook Lighthouse (only few kilometres away) it's definitely worth a visit. This 15-16th century castle is actually in quite a good shape - at least from the outside - and is lovely located on the coast of Hook Head, in a tiny fishing village of Slade and right in its charming harbour. Very picturesque and would be a shame to miss it when in the area.
