Good Stopover For Ferry

Review of Rosslare
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 29 Jun 2013
Stayed here for one night to catch the morning ferry back home to the uk. Location is very good, close to shops and ferry terminal.
Although it lacks facilities like food and lounge areas it makes up for it by being very clean and comfy. Staff were very friendly and helpful and there is free wifi in reception.
Date of stay: June 2013
Room Tip: Ground floor close to reception and you can just about pick up the wifi signal from your bedroom.

This is a good place to stay if you are catching the ferry next morning. It is only a couple of minutes drive to the check in at the port. The rooms are a good size and clean, obviously basic no frills but for the price is perfect for what I suspect most people use it for. The man on reception was very helpful and gave directions to the Lobster Pot Restaurant which turned out to be the best food we had eaten on our 11 day holiday to Island. More expensive than most but well worth it if you like fresh fish.

We had cycled from Kilkenny and were wet and tired when we arrived at the Lodge. Warmly met and welcomed. Bikes secured in their outbuilding and checked in. I was in a 'single' room (number 9). First impressions were good, large, spacious immaculately clean room. Double bed with great quality linen and good duvet and pillowcase. Plenty of storage space and room to pack/unpack wet cycling gear.

Nice clean bathroom with bath and shower over. Fantastic high pressure water, filled the bath in 5 mins. Enough soft white towels too.

This place doesn't have many facilities, but if you understand that it's a lodge, then you should be ok.

Kettle with tea and coffee in the room and a TV with more than the usual channels you'd expect to see.

Friendly manager, young guy, other reviewers have previously referred to him as Jonathan I think. Helped us with a recommendation on somewhere to eat and even gave us a lift home after we bumped into him down there later that evening.

Overall, this a great stopover. Excellent value and just what we needed.

Lovely rooms, clean and respectable, cheapest around for sure, service was very professional and didn't hesitate to ring numbers for me, not to be missed! The guys here at this lodge helped me in a big way, I came stuck in rosslare through bad timing at a very late time and they took me in like royalty!!!
        Thanks for everything
        Regards mike.

The bedroom was clean and the staff is very friendly, but you can find a cheaper (and cosy) Bed & Breakfast very near to the Europort, for sure (there are lots of them!)
The wifi in our room was very poor.

Very comfortable and quiet modern hotel with all you need for a stop-over night.
Most important to mention Jonathan who seems to run the hotel single-handed. He could not have been more helpful and attentive and his restaurant recommendation 13 minutes away was excellent. Thankyou very much to him especially.
