Great stay .Lovely hotel in a gre a t location .Big room very clean and comfortable .Staff very friendly and helpful .Good breakfast menu .We will definitely be returning as it was great value for money .I had the mini breakfast both mornings and it was by far the biggest mini I have seen .Thoroughly recommended
Some of the staff at this hotel did not protray a good impression of the establishment.. I brought my family there for a meal 19th July..We were totally ignored by a staff member on entering their diner/ lounge. We had to figure out by ourselves on what the procedure was for ordering and sitting...Once we got that sorted we were attended to, by a very nice young male member of staff,called, Harry....who was very friendly and helpful..
Later we requested an extra bottle of water by a young female, member of staff..They were not busy at the time...She went off and cleared a table near by and eventually came back with the water 3/4 minutes later..She put the bottle and the table and said " there you are".We felt as if you were been a nuisance been there... Very unimpressed...
Very handy for the Rosslare ferry, and a nice beach resort. The hotel was, however, disappointing. Our first night's room was very nice, but when we returned at the end of the week we were given a triple room (only one available) where the bathroom was in a really disgraceful state, badly chipped bath where the plug didn't even fit so one had to run the taps continuously to keep a level! We ate in the restaurant on the first night. The service was very slow, it took nearly an hour before we were served. There was spilled food on the floor, which needed a good clean. I guess the whole place needs a upgrade. The staff were friendly and helpful.
While the staff were very friendly, the food offer and entertainment in the bar, very good, the hotel itself is badly in need of a refurbishment. It's gone well past the stage of acceptable at this point. The carpets in the main area are thread bare, the paint is literally flaking off the walls. The seats in the restaurant are badly stained, and look really dirty. But worst of all were the bedrooms, I've never seen a bathroom so bad,it's old,chipped, badly worn,and not fit for purpose. The carpets in the room are stained and literally feel sticky. There was one tiny pillow per bed, bulbs in the room not working. It's such a shame, as it's a perfect location, and the staff and food offer is great, really let's the hotel down.
We've stayed here twice in the last two years and was hoping this time they might have made some improvements, but sadly not.
Went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The staff were nice but probably just a bit too young so the service was poor. Drinks were slow to arrive and fizzy drinks were all flat. Food was also slow to arrive and when it did it was bland and bad quality. Crunchy rice, dry bolognaise, thick batter on the fish, soggy vegetables, garlic bread with no garlic and what seemed to be oven chips. Very disappointing as it is a great location. Won’t be returning.
