A very tired hotel. Badly needs updating. The rooms are very clean but rather basic and tired decor.
We ate in the bar for dinner but were not impressed. I just had a pizza and it was , in my opinion , frozen and shop bought. You could tell by the pepperoni on it . I make my own pizza at home and there is no way this was made fresh.
My wife had fish and chips and it was OK. Nothing special.

Attended my son's wedding at the weekend and everything was superb. An early check in was very helpful as the ceremony was held in the hotel. The food was really good and the staff were excellent. In particular a shout out to Aaron and Dan in the bar who were so professional and accommodating. It was a pleasure to deal with them and we will be back.

Bathroom in triple room in serious need of an update. Shower had dirty grouting and bath was very worn, I showered in cold water. My friends wouldn’t use the shower
Breakfast tasted as if it was pre cooked and poor quality of food. Tea not served at the breakfast ! Self service option and quality was terrible. No residents bar and bar shut at 11.30.
Dinner was ok and all the young students / servers were friendly. Grey decor everywhere was depressing.
Comfortable clean rooms with good facilities and excellent breakfast and dinner in the bar. Even went out of their way to accommodate us with food after restaurant had closed as we where arriving from the harbour having travelled back from Spain on the ferry

We stayed here for 2 nights staff were amazing and food was good however hotel is in need of a lot of attention the lack of attention to detail was shocking bulbs in light fitting in bar not working and nobody changed them in the 2 days we were there and light fittings full of cobwebs.
Reception area is lovely but a few kids on skates and scooters playing there is not ideal.
We stayed in room 303 which is suite which was an amazing size but the paintwork was so badly chipped very bad workmanship. The bath panal was a disgrace and the floor was not a pretty site the wall tiles were fairly new I think but again holes where the shower was fitted wrong were left onattended to. It's such a pity because hotel is in a prime location and could be easily made into a 4 or 5 star with the proper care. Carpet on stairs threadbare also in bedroom carpet fitted really badly. Stairways paint is very dark the colour is all wrong and chipped everywhere bad workmanship again. I know hotel is suppose to be getting a makeover but not a maintenance man or builder in sight.??
The amazing staff and lovely food are the only good things about the hotel at the moment.
