The inteior of this church is unusual in that it divided in two by the organ loft. In other respects, it is quite plainly decorated and very serene.

This Cathedral is a Church of Ireland cathedral located in Waterford, Ireland. It has beautiful stained glass windows and a beautiful ceiling. The entry to the church shows an excavation to the foundations of several earlier church buildings which were on the same site. Location is a short walk from the Quay and from Waterford Crystal so it should not be missed if visiting Waterford.

We stopped into the Christ Church Cathedral a couple of times during out stay in Waterford. The cathedral was quite stunning inside. It had beautiful ceilings with crystal chandeliers. The pipe organ in the balcony could be seen from both sides. There is a small gift shop in the back of the church.

If you have 10 mins in the Viking Triangle drop in, it's free (donations welcome). The stain glass is beautiful and worth a view, wonderful history within this historic building.

Christ Church Cathedral, built in the 18th century in the Georgian Neoclassical-style has a simple elegance that I thought set it apart from virtually all the other churches we saw in Ireland. It is Anglican rather than RC, and that might account for some of the differences including the lack of statuary. The cathedral is filled with light, which gives the place a strong sense of serenity, and it boasts a beautifully decorative ceiling and most impressive chandelier (Waterford crystal, naturally). It is located right next to the museum and Bishop's Palace in the tourist quarter ... and definitely worth a look if you are in that zone.
