Where to begin... Waterford Castle is a dream venue.
We were blessed with the wonderful wedding manager, Gillian. She is the epitome of ""cool"", exactly what you want when you are planning an Irish wedding from London. We were wowed by the venue on our initial visit, but it was Gillian that swung it for us. We said what we were hoping to achieve and she just filled us with such confidence that she would make it all work (and she did). The whole way through the planning process she was easily contactable and on our final pre-wedding visit she built a very impressive excel file with every single detail for our day! This was a life-saver when putting all the final touches on our day. On the day of the wedding, she made everything flow with such precision. I'm a bit of a control-freak, but I didn't have to worry about a single thing all day.
Next, the food. We had our food sampling and having to make decisions between all the wonderful dishes was the only negative. All our guests couldn't have spoken higher about the quality of the food. The star of the show was definitely the 'cooked to order beef fillet'. The fact that a venue can do this for a wedding is impressive, and even more so when you realise just how tasty it is. For any wine lovers, the house wines are good quality...Where to begin... Waterford Castle is a dream venue.

We decided to have a pre-wedding reception the night before at the Golf Clubhouse. The food was super tasty and in vast quantity! Definitely a good shout for a night before or day two!
The venue itself is incredible. The castle and the island have so many photo opportunities. All the event spaces are stunningly maintained. The rooms wowed everyone, and the presidential suite had a queue of people wanting to witness its sheer scale and opulence. The photos do it absolutely no justice!
The lodges are the final key to why Waterford Castle is a stunning venue. They're incredible value and very modern and comfortable. We were greeted with the fireplaces on, which was a lovely touch on a wet October day after travelling.
All in all, we wouldn't change a single thing about our day at Waterford Castle. They all helped us to create the most magical memories and we couldn't be more grateful! Go and see it and be wowed...More
