Stayed here for a 3 night family break during mid term.Hotel looks impressive from the outside. Hotel was busy and a few hiccups while checking in were sorted out quickly. We had a 2 bedroom which was big .A few negatives - The kitchenette was not functional , no cutlery , 2 small fridges none of which worked. We didnt need them but if you are providing them ensure they can be used. The beds are uncomfortable and outdated. With these improvements rooms would be great. Thought the bar and restaurant lacked character but the staff in both were very friendly and helpful .Food in both was good.The leisure centre and pool was also great for the kids. Overall we had a good stay and would consider coming back if the beds were improved.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We do not leave cutlery in any of the rooms however these are all available upon request from reception and will be delivered to the room. We do have fridges in some rooms however we apologise if they had been plugged out or switched off. We are replacing all of our beds in a phased manner. Having said all that we would like to thank you for choosing to stay with us during your recent trip to the area and we wish to see you back in future when we have completed planned improvements .
We had our wedding reception in Clayton Hotel Sligo on 27th October, it was amazing, their attention to detail was exceptional, we would like to thank every member of staff that made our day special, function room was dressed to perfection, the food was amazing...thank you Chefs, guests have commented to us on the fabulous food, on the fun interaction they had with all bar & floor staff, families remarked on the fabulous spacious rooms to facilitate their children.....from the moment I booked with you the service I received was flawless......well done to you all it was perfect

Just back from a three night stay in the Clayton Hotel Sligo.The hotel was lovely and the food was excellent. But unfortunately the service in the restaurant was very disappointing. We ate in the restaurant the night we arrived. Firstly, our soup arrived and the waiter who brought it to our table told us the waitress would bring our rolls. We waited and waited for those to arrive but they didn't and there was no staff around we could ask. Eventually my husband went to see if he could find somebody and by the time we got our rolls the soup was cold. Then we got our Mains and by the time they remembered to bring our sides we had all finished our meal. This was really disappointing as we were there for my mum's birthday and our meal had been ruined. The staff on duty that night did the best they could under the circumstances but there just wasn't enough staff on. Where we were sitting there seemed to be only two staff on which was really not enough. We were in at 8 and the side of the restaurant we sitting in didn't seem to be overly busy. Later on that night we complained to the Manager and explained to him about our experience in the restaurant. He asked us did we report it at the time and he took our room number. But we didn't hear anything else about it. The next day we decided to eat in the bar thinking the service would be a lot better. But how wrong were we. We had to actually go and find a waitress to take our order, so after that we didn't eat in the hotel again. Also when we arrived at the hotel we were given the wrong room. So after going down to reception this was rectified. Also the door to one of our bedrooms was locked so we had to arrange also for this to be opened. There was also a door in one of the rooms separating us from the next room and this could be quite noisy as you could clearly hear the people next door on the phone and having a conversation. This woke me a couple of times which was not ideal. It is a shame this hotel does not have enough staff to provide a good service to it's guests because it is a lovely hotel with great food. But unfortunately the service lets it down.

We had our wedding at the Clayton Hotel, Sligo on 15th September 2017. The staff at all levels took great care of us and were very professional at all times. A special mention of managers Willie and Lucas, wedding organisers Vilma & Sandra, chef Edel, Siobhan, Pauric & the very proficient Vojcek and his team, who calmly, warmly & expertly ensured that everything ran smoothly on the day. We were totally relaxed and felt everything was in very safe hands.
They certainly lived up to their promise of a 'be-spoke' wedding, we got to have everything as we wanted it to be. The setting was perfect with the delightful Canis Major church on the extensive & well-kept grounds. Just a short walk away, the main hotel a historical stone building, houses the beautiful, tastefully decorated function room.
It was our pleasure having them host our big day.

Booked Clayton hotel for our anniversary. When we got to room it was like an appt with 2 rooms but double one was nice with lovely big windows unfortunately there was large fan outside window which as I'm light sleeper I knew would keep me awake so I asked to change rooms. Girl on reception seemed hasseled and I felt bad and we were changed. Second room was disabled one. It was so disappointing as it was dark dull and dreary with even duller bathroom with low sink...not good when u ave bad back...this room made me very much aware the building was once a sanatorium. Window in corner but had to stand on tiptoe to see out. You could also hear people in next room and floorboards creaking .had to leave light on all night. Was also noisey in morning..kids shouting etc...not hotels fault. This certainly was not romantic break I has envisaged...dinner was nice and girl with blonde hair in ponytail serving was very friendly. Enjoyed music in bar. Breakfast was chaotic..poor young lad running round and I had to ask first for spoons then cups plates etc tho he was friendly...very warm in breakfast room.overall was disappointed in stay and certainly the room...
