to think we were on the battlefield was amazing - the audio visual battlefield map inside the building is a must to see to help you understand

“Invaluable Historical Insight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 February 2017

If you enjoy your European History then this is an opportunity to connect a few dots.
You will be exposed to enough information that will make you fully aware of events leading up to a battle between French and English forces that was unfortunately fought on Irish soil.
If history is not of interest you can avail of the beautiful grounds that have walking trails stretching for miles, the most peaceful being the path along the Boyne river and canal.
Overall a fantastic insight into regional life from the 17th century leading to the present day.
The staff are friendly and professional, you are genuinely welcomed.
The cafeteria is the perfect place to relax over a light lunch.

“Great place for lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 November 2016 via mobile

Stopped off here on way back from Wicklow to N Ireland. 5 mins off the motorway, just after the bridge at Drogheda. Displays are excellent and it really explains the tactics used at the battle. Just wish there was more to see. Maybe even the rest of the house? More artifacts? Didn't get round the gardens or walks as too cold. We will be back in the summer. The tea pavilion is fantastic. Scones, soup, sandwiches, quiche and a really bright, clean environment and great staff. Seating area outside too.

“Great place to visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2016

The battle of the Boyne Vistors Centre is definitely worth a visit. The history of the battle is told very well in a 15 minute videos and a laser pamerama showing the movements of the opposing forces during the battle. There are extensive grounds as well and they have live history displays every Sunday and on bank holidays.

“Beautiful November day in Oldbridge”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2016

Visited Battle of the Boyne centre at Old bridge today with my wife and six year old granddaughter. We had a beautiful day, a lovely walk down to the canal lock, then to the beautiful garden and lunch at the restaurant in the sunshine. The whole estate looks fabulous, congratulations to all the staff who are responsible for keeping the place so well
