I stayed at this hotel with a friend whilst on a road trip around Ireland. This hotel was in a perfect location for us, just off the motorway, but in a quiet location. It was surrounded with nice gardens and woodland and had plenty of parking. Check in took longer than it needed to, mainly because the two receptionists were chatting with each other and ignoring us. Not a great impression of the place. Reception area was very welcoming and had plenty of comfy seating areas. ROOM -Our room was big with a safe & tea/coffee making area. The bed was extremely comfy and the room was fairly clean. The tv was large and had plenty of channels. BATHROOM- the bathroom was adequate, nothing special. Just a bath with shower over it. It looked a bit tired and also we found hair in the bath, so it wasn’t that clean. The towels were good quality and some small toiletries were provided. FOOD-We ordered food to our room on the evening & it was delicious. It was brought up to our room and the girl that brought it was very friendly. We loved our main meals of pork chop and vegan burger. But the cheese board was very uninspiring and very disappointing. Breakfast consisted of a small buffet of pastries, cold meats and cheeses, juices and bread. We hardly saw the restaurant staff and had nearly finished our breakfast before our pot of tea arrived. Very poor service, which let this place down. The staff we did see seemed to be more bothered about chatting with each other, than customers. Which seemed to be a running theme during our stay.

OVERALL- we had a lovely stay despite the lack of customer service. The room was comfy and the food tasty. It was a good stopover for us in a convenient location.More
