In Aug I went on Barratt's Cliffs of Moher day tour & was picked up at my hotel in Limerick. We stopped in Ennis (which was on the way) to pick up more people, so there were 9 of us in the small bus. The small group size made the day relaxing & fun. Frank, who was very nice, was a good guide/driver. Throughout the day he gave us good information & threw in a few jokes as well.
We stopped at Leamenagh Castle, Caherconnell stone ring fort & the Poulnabrone Tomb (which was a highlight for me). The Burren was a very special place. At our lunch stop we ate where he suggested which was good. By the time we got to the cliffs it was raining heavily w/ a high wind which made it difficult to fully appreciate the beautiful views. It was very crowded there w/ lots of other tour buses. There was a new visitor centre w/ exhibits, Imax film, gift shops, cafes & bathrooms.
As we returned to Ennis & Limerick it was difficult to see out of the bus between the rain & fogged up windows, but it had been a great day. I enjoyed every stop and was glad I had taken this tour.
