We ate with several families whose children graduated from the University of Limerick with our child and the meal as well as the hotel atmosphere were top notch. The restaurant sits on the river and does have outdoor seating but we had a room to ourselves on the second floor. The wait staff were very friendly and did a great job sorting out the bills for the various parties.

The music downstairs was entertaining and we thoroughly enjoyed the girl performing traditional Irish step dancing. It was our first time seeing it performed live in an Irish restaurant and the girl did a great job. I would definitely come back to The Locke again.

We had a monkfish and a plaice - i think the best fish i ever had to date! Very nice service as well. Only suggeation i could have is to change the way to serve toffe pudding - putting a ball of ice cream on a side/rant of a deep plate was bit tricky ;)

Twice in the two weeks outside of Tipperary we made the trip to Limerick. By accident we found this place. Both times I had the seafood chowder and today asked for a take away order. I've never been a fan of seafood chowder until my month long stay in Ireland. Fantastic! !

Nice bar, great to go for a few drinks especially when sunny. Half of Limerick flocks here for a few drinks by the river in the sun.
