Thanks to the talent and passion of chef/owner Thomas and the professinalism of its staff, the French Table is quite simply one of the best addresses where to have lunch or dinner in Limerick. Very well-executed French dishes, good wines and a cosy atmosphere is what you can expect from this restaurant. Don't be put off by the not so great location, once you're inside, it's a very nice place.

Food was first class from starter to dessert. We had the set menu (very reasonable) and my hake was probably the most delicious and succulent pieces of fish I've had in a long time. Highly recommend!

Our last dinner in Ireland for this trip ....went to Locke's for music and oysters....then searched for the best fine dining in Limerick... and found it !!! Sophisticated service... lovely subtle music... wonder preparation ... we enjoyed lamb, haddock and chocolate mousse and sorbet ... a sublime evening and a sad but happy departure tomorrow....

This restaurant fronts onto a car park which effectively blocks the view of the mighty Shannon river - sad! The decor of the restaurant is tired and needs upgrading - no rustic feel compounded by inclusion of narrrow slatted blinds on all the windows. Our starters were French onion soup and a terrine of pork . The soup was very average with the bread and cheese topping served separately- not the way French onion soup should be served! The terrine was rather bland and fatty . The main course was hake with a sauce and new potatoes- this was excellent and saved the day . Deserts average. Overall this place is tired and need a lift .staff were very pleasant and helpful . Rory Hearne
