“The View, Bridget and her Breakfasts do it for us!”

My girlfriend and i stayed with Bridget a week and a half ago...i trusted the trip advisor reviews and it paid off (to be honest i don't normally write positive reviews but this deserved one). From start to finish Bridget made us welcome and dropped everything to help us. The view from her house is breathtaking, her rooms are spotless and the bed was very comfortable 10 out of 10. We also had a picnic a few minutes from her house and it was the perfect setting. The breakfast the next morning was beautiful i had fresh strawberries and yogurt and full irish breakfast ,simply sensational. It's a credit to Bridget for the job she has done - we wish we could have stayed longer - If on your holidays in Limerick - just stay in Desmond Lodge, simple as that.

t's all been said before. The Desmond Lodge experience starts with tea and scones and a great welcome from Bridget a wonderfully effervescent and tireless host. Desmond Lodge occupies an enviable position overlooking Lough Gur. The house itself is clean and bright and has great views over the lough, it is in a very tranquil location which means a good night's sleep. Bedrooms are a good size, the beds are comfortable and everything is spotlessly clean. The 'full Irish' breakfast was delicious.

There are a number of excellent sites of archaeological interest close by including a fantastic stone circle that we had to ourselves for half an hour one evening - wonderful. Do schedule time to go up to the Lough Gur Visitors Centre - it's well worth the trip.

Desmond Lodge is one of our very favourite places to visit in Ireland. Its situation is unbelievably beautiful and, when you stay at Desmond Lodge Bridget make sure that you have an incredibly comfortable room and her breakfasts are to die for. We feel truly blessed that we have made such a wonderful friend in Bridget as she always ensures that we experience the wonderful Irish life. A visit to ireland would not be complete if we did not stay at Desmond Lodge. Don't miss it!

The first time we stumbled upon Desmond Lodge by chance, the second time we couldn't miss the opportunity to get back there!
The location is beautiful, with a marvelous sight on Lough Gur. Getting there requires some searching and wandering, though.
Bridget's house is really nice; rooms are spacious, nice and clean, the bathroom is huge and the view on the lake is a big plus.
Bridget welcomed us warmly, treated us like old friends and accompanied us to a nice show of traditional music which we enjoyed a lot, we have never anywhere else experienced such a nice company while on vacation.
The location is convenient to visit Lough Gur, and Cashel and Cahir are not too far either.
We cannot recommend any other bed and breakfast more that this, it is simply the best we encountered in all our Ireland wanderings; be sure to pass by there.

From the moment you arrive, Bridget makes you feel like an old friend, so relaxed and genuine is the atmosphere. The rooms are excellent and breakfast is superb, the views are wonderful, we were wondering what to expect from the B&B'S in Ireland, although we had good reports, Bridget's home is the benchmark for us, if I'm lucky enough to return to Ireland on holidays I would not hesitate to stay with her again. Thank you Bridget for a wonderful stay.
