We stayed for one night in a period style room and felt that while our stay was nice, it was very overpriced for what it was. The building is lovely, staff professional and friendly, and the rooms are well decorated and spacious but at €325 for a weeknight it just wasn't worth it.
There was no lift to our room which we didn't see at the time of booking, and our room was up 5, maybe 6, flights of stairs. We are fit, but it was a big job to get there and we would arrive sweating each time!
We also had lunch there and felt the food was underwhelming. The soup was mainly cream, the bread wasn't fresh, and the salad had an odd combination of cold cooked tomatoes and broccoli that just didn't work.
We don't mind splashing out on an expensive hotel, but for this price it would want to be exceptional and have lots of facilities like a gym and pool, and this just wasn't unfortunately.
